Nice stroll along the river with shops and restaurants. Very Beautiful. We had a large group waiting for our lunch reservations and we could keep the kids occupied taking then window shopping and looking for fish in the water.

It was cold and raining when we first got here during the time we had allocated to the trail. We waited in the coffee shop in the end and popped into and out of a bunch of shops while it warmed up. My son's fav...More

The Riverwalk is hidden behind the shops, on the South side of the street. It is a very nice place to be. The sound of the river is relaxing. We were there in the winter, so much of the river is covered in ice but...More

I believe you are allowed to walk them through the area and then continue on the path forward in the less congested area, but that may have changed.

What are your hiking abilities? Sky Pond is a 9 mile (round trip) difficult hike that requires a vertical rock climb up the side of a waterfall. Emerald Lake is 3.5 miles (round trip). Your order also doesn't make sense. If you do Emerald Lake, you will automatically go by Bear Lake. If you do Sky Pond, you will automatically go by Alberta Falls. Sprague Lake is an easy stroll around a lake. That would be an awful lot of hiking for one day but some people can handle that much. There is a cut...More

Manistee/Orchard Beach State Park (4 Replies)
This is the review I wrote for Orchard Beach State Park, where we camped over Labor Day weekend, for all of you posters out there who are campers . Another day we spent driving up to Frankfort to see the lighthouse. There is a beautiful roadside park on M-22 north of Arcadia-a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, the sand...More
