One of the smallest and prettiest spot to pass for a nice observation of the river on the side of the riverwalk with many shops to enter and browse through.

Our family visited from Pennsylvania for a week and really enjoyed the downtown of Estes Park. It was the week of Christmas and I have never seen such a beautifully lit up town. It was just what we needed.

To find a place to park and to just walk and see what you can see is the way to do it. There are many places to sit if you get tired but with all of the other people/crowd this is the way to go....More

The downtown area is very Norman Rockwell and you can enjoy the many shops full of unique items. There are a few bars and restaurants too,and plenty of elk! They are like rabbits!

Lovely walk along the river with the family during the daytime on Christmas Eve. Beautiful shops to dash into. Cute restaurants too. Free parking and public restrooms at the visitors center. Outstanding scenery on the road from Fort Collins. Excellent day trip

Very charming downtown however a lot of the stores sold a lot of the same things. It was fun to just walk and look around though.

Trip Report July 29th - August 2nd (2 Replies)
Our family just came back from Estes Park Colorado and I must say we had a great time. We stayed at "Trout Haven Ranch" in the Trout Suite. This suite has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a large living area and full kitchen. Our family, my husband, myself, and my two kids, 2 years and 6 years of age were very comfortable. I was highly impressed by how clean the cabin was. It was also well equipped with toiletries, toilet paper and towels. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. The manager...More

Lodging in Downtown Estes Park (3 Replies)
This may seem like an odd request but we are looking for hotels/resorts that are in downtown Estes Park. We will be hauling a trailer with bikes and thought it would be easiest to stay in town rather than try to pull/unload the trailer on some of the back roads where the cabins/lodges are. Thank You!

There are precious few lodging choices right in downtown Estes. Misty Mountain Lodge and Lofts of Estes are two that pop into mind right away. Be advised you will have a harder time trying to get a trailer parked in downtown Estes than one of the many many many places right outside of the downtown area. You can choose between a lot of different loding places if you look at about 1 - 3 miles from the Elkhorn Avenue area. Most lodging places are right off one of the main roads around town so...More
