It was so much fun watching the sea lions. There were probably 100 laying around any open space. You are suppose to stay 125 feet from the sea lions BUT too many people kept getting close to take a photo. Very new, clean harbor.

The crab and deep sea fishing boats have seafood for sale on the dock usually . Super nice view and sidewalks for bikes and roller blades. It’s real pretty here; see the sea lions right there 🦭🦭🦭

The best way to access and visit the Crescent City Harbor is along Anchor Way, a road running along the breakwater on the south side of the harbor, which is reached from Redwoods Hwy (US-101) south of downtown. Along Anchor Way, one will find ample free parking, several good restaurants (Porcini, Crescent City Crab Shack and Chart Room) and views of the colorful harbor on one side and Crescent Beach on the other. Distant views of the Battery Point Lighthouse can also be seen looking across the harbor and are often quite good around sunset.

However, what brought us by every evening, even if only for a short time, was the wildlife viewing, especially the sea lions. About half way out on Anchor Way, where much of the parking is, on the harbor side, there are a number of small, floating piers that are frequented by sea lions which are very entertaining to watch as some of these social animals scratch, squabble and bark while the others try to get some rest on the crowded piers. Towards the end of Anchor Way there are some larger floating piers that are frequented by dozens of harbor seals, but they are not nearly as entertaining, and sometimes whales can be seen in the open ocean beyond.

as the title says, you can be disappointed elsewhere and if you drive 20 miles north there is a Harbor with some actual activities and some ascetic value , not to mention you will save 25 cents per gallon on gas. This Harbor has such potential yet no vision . there could be multiple attractions or even a single draw for families to visit yet none exists. you will see boats moored ready to sink and dock over run with ......anyway avoid the disappointment

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your visit here. Since you last dropped by we have added a number of things to do and the California Coastal Trail now runs all the way to South Beach. One of the new things you can do while here is horseback riding on the beach. We hope you'll gie us another try!

A harbor is not a place I would normally go to see wildlife but there are so many animals to see at the Crescent City one! The Harbor put up a bunch of floating docks where you can see seals and sea lions sunning themselves and playing in the water. There is also a cute restaurant at the Harbor where you can have a nice seafood lunch and watch all the animals playing. The harbor is really clean and looks pretty new. It is a definite stop if you are in Crescent City.

Luckily we were here in the evening as the boats were returning which made for some nice photo ops. It is very close to the beach as well as Battery Lighthouse.

This is a great spot for pictures! Thanks for writing a review about your experience! Being fortunate enough to work here provides us with many opportunities to take photos. We share some of them on our Facebook page and website. Being able to have the Battery Point Lighthouse in the background of so many of our photos is a real bonus!

We always stop in to see the Sea Lions basking on their own floating dock, and to listen to their very vocal arguments. There are also a few restaurants nearby, but we didn't go to any; so no review for them.

We spent a couple of days here, mostly to see the Redwood trees but ended up really enjoying the Harbor restaurants, shopping, and views. It's not at all like other places in California that we've experienced. The locals were down to earth, fun to talk with and just really cool to be around. The seals are cool... just follow the sounds and you'll find them. :)

We walked down from our hotel to experience this beautiful location. We highly recommend going but bundle up in the winter.

Thank you for your positive review! We are working on developing more items of interest for visitors and improving access to others. You're right about bundling up - the 35 mile an hour winds that kick up on some winter days are absolutely bone-chilling!

We were staying in a hotel right across the highway from here so got to visit a few times actually. There are places to eat, walking paths and plenty of wildlife in and out of the water. We were able to catch some great sunsets, watch the fog roll in, see a sea lion chase after some fish and also read about the tsunami that hit the harbor in 2011. All in all a great place to visit.
