Nice quick stop right off 101. Bring some binoculars cause they are about 50yards off the jetty. But the kids will still enjoy it.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by the Harbor to check out the Sea Lions and thank you for writing a review! It's definitely been a while with all the COVID-19 restrictions since we've seen visitors enjoying themselves here. Hope you can make it back sometime.

We went to Chart room at the harbor and were able to see the sea lions! It was so kool. I didn't realize till I got there that Sea lions are noisy!

You are absolutely right! Sea Lions are very noisy - and very big! We have lots of Sea Lions around the Harbor now because of the Herring run. Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Sea Gulls, Cormorants, Surf Scoters and all sorts of sea birds are feasting on the herring coming in to the harbor to spawn. The Sea Lions are taking over places where we have never seen them before because there are so many of them here chasing herring. We should see normal numbers return once the herring have left the area. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Was hoping to see some sea lions/seals while we were there. I think it must have been to hot and they weren't resting and lounging. Maybe next time. Area is very nice.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry you didn't get to see the Sea Lions or Harbor Seals during your visit. The Harbor Seals tend to be stealthy and hang out by the entrance to the Marina. The Sea Lions are anything but stealthy and you can't help but notice them when they are in the Outer Harbor. The Sea Lions come and go according to a schedule of their own. Right now, the small pier and some of the picnic tables are covered with them over on the south side of the Harbor. We hope you get a chance to return when they are in the area. If possible, you can always call the Crescent City Harbor District Office to get an update on the presence of Sea Lions. Thanks again!

...but they certainly are! It appears they can squabble about just about anything - although I might too if someone tried to nudge me off my perfect napping spot :) Sunsets, views, working ships and lots of noisy seals.

Went to watch the sunset! Heard barking, so went searching for seals! Found them! Doing what seals do! We watched the seals and missed the sunset!!

I have to admit the Sea Lion antics can be totally distracting. Here at the harbor we often take a moment to check out the Sea Lions jostling for position as newcomers hurl themselves up onto the dock. I'm sorry that you missed the sunset that day but I understand why. Thanks for your review! Please come back to enjoy both.
