Beachfront Park is a large grassy park with a great ocean view! There are lots of things to do and see here:
Acres of nice grass where you can walk, run or just relax.
A covered picnic area with barbeques.
An interesting huge hollow redwood log.
A gazebo.
The SS Emidio memorial - a ship sunk by a Japanese sub in December, 1941.
A very large children's playground.
An indoor swiming pool.
The Crescent City Visitor Information office.
A cute carving of a bear.
A dolo - the concrete things that are used to protect jetties.
On a nice sunny day you and your family could spend the whole day here :-)

This is a gated area designed for kids to have fun. Thanks to Crescent City's attention to detail and especially dozens of volunteers from the local LDS Church who conduct deep maintenance periodically, this place is a "must visit" for people who are traveling and need to give their children some wholesome exercise.

Nice park for families. Alot of areas for children to run and play. Several historical plaques to inform guest of prior happenings and other things to see in Crescent City.

The bathrooms were nasty. There was no toilet paper. The picnic tables had bird crap all over them (they all needed pressure washed). We had a lady sitting in her car right outside watching the kids. None of the kids belonged to her. She smoked cig after cig. Now, perhaps the kids gave her much joy; maybe she needed that. But it was strange. And a few random people hanging out by the restroom. If this is a city facility, perhaps the city should monitor it a little more.
Luckily, the beach and lighthouse were close. But this place turned out to be a total dud.

This park has a great playground for kids; lots and lots of things to climb on and slide down. Locals like me go there all the time in good weather. It has a community pool (indoor) there that is open to the public. Public library is also there and they have programs happening often. It has great picnic areas and nice beach on the bay. There are current plans for a dog park (may be done by the time you read this). There are great park benches and sidewalks to walk or skate on. Every July 4th there is a big party there with carnival rides, contests, booths, art, food, games, pony rides, etc. It's always clean; but the weather is what is not dependable as we do get rain at intervals, but we have "secret" sunny sunny days when everyone comes out even during the winter.

The park is so close to the beach, just a short stroll away. Take in the ocean view as your children play their hearts out. Besides a few bums hanging out on the beach (which they were very polite and nice) it is a perfect spot to hang out and enjoy each others company.

This was a terrific place to watch Pelicans dive-bomb for food. It was a lot of fun, just to kick back, and watch a "Discover Channel Moment" happen in front of us :)

This park was built years ago by a visionary Crescent City Council. It hosts a major activity every weekend over the summer months, and is kept in outstanding condition by the City. Clean, safe, and spacious.

This is a huge city park with views of the ocean harbor, and Battery Point Lighthouse. There is a nice playground and plenty of areas to walk a dog, sit and look, or take a walk. There is plenty of parking. Also, at one end is the marine rescue center where you might visit a recovering sea lion or other wildlife.

If you want to see California Grey whales or Pilot whales or some people have seen Orca whales...this is the place. Bring your binoculars and have a nice picnic on the lawns there. On a clear day you can see forever~
