We went to Two-Step. I really enjoyed the snorkeling - followed a Moorish Idol around, saw most of the usual Kona-coast smaller fish suspects.. The lava rocks, however, were too dififcult for my wife to navigate (she didn't have proper footwear) so she didn't go...More

This protected bay is about a 40 minute drive from Kona and some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii! Very easy entry into the water, and then -- fish everywhere, and turtles! We stayed in the water for about 2 hours. Top of our list...More

The snorkelling was incredible, you get in the water and the coral is stunning, the fish are beautiful and if you're lucky you might see dolphins.

Honaunau Bay has an easy, beautiful place to snorkel called "2 step". It called that because there are 2 steps in the natural lava formation that you can enter the water safely. Very clear, fairly calm, lots of fish and cinder blocks spelling out "Aloha"...More

The sacred land is a safe zone place where people used as shelter. A lot of history in the place with beautiful nature and scenery.

The snorkeling was great and the location was easy to get to. Ensure you have water shoes and snorkels for everyone. I could have stayed for hours. Bringing chairs to sit in would be best as the beach is rocky.

Arrive earlier in the day to get parking as there isn't much here. Schools of tangs just when you enter the water. Loads of coral formations (unfortunately many in bad shape) but many different kinds of fish. It's large enough that it doesn't feel crowded...More

I have lived 3 miles away for over 3 years and I go for a snorkel almost every day. The ocean can get angry any time of year but November is not yet winter and should be fine. I have never found the need to wear a wetsuit... More
