The staff and owners of Sukhmani take wonderful care of you and make you feel loved and at home. They have 2 shops across from each other - one is jewelry and such and the other is amazing home furnishings and decor from India and other exotic places. Very high quaintly and superb service.

Sukhmani--Two Stores, A World Of Wonderful Things
May 2017 • Couples
Sukhmani Jewelry on Amherst just off Central came first, It's sister store, Sukhmani Home next. Sukhmani Jewelry is filled with jewelry, gifts, decor and more, each piece of the best quality and exacting design. Fall in love with piles of glowing pearls, precious and semi-precious gemstone creations in every price range and Southwestern sterling silver at its finest. Try on and admire what moves you...the owners and staff will open every case and answer every question. You'll want to stay for hours.

But then, just across the street is Sukhmani Home, equally wonderful and another world of furniture, accessories and gifts. There are antiques, near antiques, contemporary and repurposed treasures from China, India and Mexico. There are textiles to touch, music and candles, soft rugs and poufs, shimmering colors and glowing lamps...not a single sense is neglected (the big bowl of Hershey kisses is yours to plunder).

If you love to shop, spend your hours in these two stores. Sukhmani will become your new shopping home in the Southwest.

If I could give 6 stars - I would!
Feb 2017 • Family
I stopped by the store in January to "take a look"- really never thought I would find something that could/would fit in with my modern décor. The minute I walked into the store, my senses were elevated. The music, visual beauty, scents from the candles and the chocolate Hershey Kisses at the door made me want to curl up on one of the beds and not leave.

Turns out this is a family owned business . They have deep roots in both NM and India. They carry special pieces that are imported from India, China and Tibet - most are one of a kind. I met both the father, Guru Bachan and his son, Sat Gurumakh Khalsa - Wonderful people.

There was no pressure to buy and they let me just look around - everywhere I looked I saw something beautiful. They ended up taking me to their warehouse to look at some unique pieces that they had imported from India and I fell in love with one that is now in my meditation/yoga room. I am attaching some photos to this review so you can see how they have helped me to design my room & the special rug they helped me find for a VERY long hallway. (No - the dog in the photo did not come from the store!)

I stop by the store on a regular basis to see what new pieces have arrived and to say hello - I always see something new. The store carries a variety of items--lovely scented candles, bedding, framed large photos, mirrors, furniture, statues, you name it. I highly recommend this store - especially if you are looking for a special piece for your home, a gift or just visiting Albuquerque. Get ready - this will be a novel experience that will fill your senses and stay with you.
