If you do nothing else in your life, do this trip. I loved every mile and there are a lot of them. The small towns you visit are probably the best ie Pontiac, Springfield, Fanning - loved 'em all.

There are tons of roads defined as "route 66" but this is one of the few that have the reality behind it. It is a piece of american history and a place where you would like to be either driving or walking by the old buildings. There are a couple of other pieces of Route 66 in AZ and they... More

Drive east on Central Avenue from Old Town and experience a piece of history. Great old buildings and street lights. Worth the time to see it.

We were not on Route 66 for a long while, but on "old 66" you can actually "stand on a corner in Winslow, AZ" - like the Eagles song. there is a place for taking pics and nostalgic shops. Even the local Sonic played Eagles music! Such fun

Room was very clean. Bed was just the right height. The casino was big and interesting. Employees were polite and considerate.

This is one of America last great links to early Americana! It; just amazing thinking of the stories of the families that have been down "America's Hiway".

Take a break from the highway and see things you would otherwise miss. There is a stretch of singing highway that you will love if you are anything like me. Keep your wits about you as there are quite a few cyclists around.

Fun to see the old buildings and architecture. Don't miss the Singing Highway!! We read about it in a brochure about the Turquoise Trail.
