This is a great zoo spread out over a large area under huge cottonwoods that provide nice shade during the warmer months. They are many unique ways to view animals including big cats walking directly above your head. There is a zoo train that connects you with Aquarium Park. Great way to see a large variety of animals including many... More

Very nice Zoo, but large part undergoing renovations. Did like that we could get close to Gorillas and several other exhibits. GREAT place for kids, lots of picnic tables and green space scattered around. Definitely bring food if you have kids. For a small-ish Zoo, we were very PLEASED.

The Albuquerque Zoo and Bio Park is a great time for any family no matter how old your children are. At the bio park there are many exhibits including a petting tank. When was the last time you petted a small shark or skate? If you come next year they have started building a new exhibit that will have lots... More

It may not be San Diego sized, but for its size it packs in a lot of really good stuff. It is always filled with families, who cherish their local zoo.

We had a group of 7 adults and 3 littles and had a great day. There were plenty of places to sit down and rest. The kiddos had fun and the grown-ups did too. Be sure to stop to see the polar bears. They are real show-offs, tossing stuff up at us. We got some great videos of them doing... More

This is a really nice zoo. The animals have a good environment, with the ability to get some privacy and large and natural looking enclosures. They have a good breeding program, which only happens in a zoo where the animals are relatively happy.

It's best to go during the week, early in the day, if you're there between the hours of 9-12 you get to see the zoo keepers feed the animals

You need to get there before 11:00 am in order to buy a day pass to ride the train from the zoo to the Bio-park or vice a versus. You not only see all the animals but a short ride on a train and the Japanese gardens it is just a nice way to spend a day.

Love this place. The animals are well cared for and very active, though I wish the keepers were a little more attentive of the crowds. Some parents let their children throw things in the enclosures which is really not good.
