Artist Daniel Ramirez was at his gallery the day we went. He spent time with us explaining the background of his work and "introducing" us to the people who inspired him. His contemporary Native American art is not only beautiful to look at but good for the soul. You'll find lots of very reasonably priced items if you want to take home a souvenir of his work or of the area. They also carry local artisans' jewelry. Immerse yourself in the native culture with a visit to this gallery in Old Town Albuquerque. Daniel travels a lot so it may be a good idea to check first to see if he'll be there when you go.

My fiancee and I stopped in Studio 13 as we were going around the shops. We had a great visit with one of the owners. He knew some of the same artsits we did and gave us lots of good information. We were very impressed with both the artwork and jewelry they had on display and will definately visit again on our next trip to Albuquerque.

OMGoodness, my girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place on our first evening in Old Town ABQ. It was an early evening in May when most shops were closing for the day. Jerome, one of the owners of Studio 13, was more than happy to welcome us in. He is incredibly knowledgeable and was interesting to listen to. You could feel his passion and enthusiasm for Native American art and culture. We could have listened to him for hours. Daniel Ramirez, a Native American artist and co-owner of Studio 13, was on hand when we returned to the gallery the following day. He often sits outside the studio painting what will be the world's longest Native American painting. Daniel is very warm, friendly but most of all talented. My girlfriend loved Daniel's Fine Art Giclee Prints - Women Dancers / The Sisters Series and we were both fortunate to have Daniel sign the prints that we purchased. The gallery carries authentic Native American made jewelry, paintings, pottery and textiles from many of the New Mexico Pueblos at varying price points so there is something for everyone. This studio supports up and coming artists who are mentored by their elders. Be sure to stop in and see them if your in Old Town. Their one of the few shops that actually stays open late in OT.
