It had been a while since our last visit. We visited as part of the Garden Week tour. Each visit will be different. Didn't get to see all as they were filming Mercy Street. Fun to see what they were doing for the filming. Guide was full of great historical information.

This is an awesome attraction and very affordable. I really enjoyed our guide. He was very factual but did not try to be dominating. He let the mansion be the focal point. The PBS series "Mercy Street" is filmed here. I have not seen the show but plan to begin watching it now. Architectural features are astounding!

Finally a house that reminded me of Ashley Wilkes planation from Gone with the Wind. The guides name was Nona and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bathroom was incredible.

Well preserved 1800s home that gives you a look back into life in Petersburg during the Civil War. The estate, woodwork and history of the home is very impressive. Ask questions about the secret passageways and tunnels to the river. Obviously not what everyone lived in but is illustrative of those who had a means during a time where America... More

On a recent visit to historic Petersburg, a friend and I toured the Centre Hill Mansion (upon advice from the folks at the beautiful Blandford Church) and it was the highlight of our visit! Our tour guide Angie McLaughin was fabulous--giving us the inside scoop on the filming of "Mercy Street" and even taking photos of us inside this wonderful... More

On a drive back to Delaware from Florida, we happened to stop in Petersburg VA for the night. At the hotel, we looked to see what sites we could visit before finishing the last leg home. Listed was the Centre Hill Mansion, so we visited the Mansion on Wednesday, July 20. We had no idea the mansion was used for... More

It is open now after Mercy street wrapped up filming at end of June! Mercy Street left behind a lot of the furniture that they used in their sets. Some of the furniture in the house belongs to the house itself but the rest is from the sets. Mercy street was kind enough to leave it behind and it is... More

Unfortunately for us this attraction is closed until the end of June. Attractive building from the outside though
