I walk these beaches almost every morning. Great sunrises (faces East). I go from Packery Channel to Bob Hall pier, as these beaches are kept up by heavy equipment. This keeps seaweed to a minimum.

I live in Corpus Christi, and the North Padre Island beaches are the best. You can drive on and party with family and friends.

We tried South Padre Island and North Padre Island. No comparison we would return to North Padre Island. It is a great place to unwind.

Amazing, free, and beautiful! The coast is the icing on the cake. Rugged and pretty. Relaxing and just a treasure.

Sorry I don't check tripadvisor often. I'm not the right person to ask. We stayed in a condo during off season, not a lot of people around. I'm not sure of the tent camping rules. I do know it seemed kind of windy... More

I think you would do better to come to North Padre or even Mustang Island which is just north of North Padre Island. Mustang Island has many more hotels on the beach than North Padre does. Another idea would be to rent an RV... More
