I went on a Saturday afternoon, it happened to be right before the shelter in place came into effect. As with many of the spots around the Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, Texas area, this one is so good for viewing seabirds and other birds that spend the winter in the area. Be sure to bring your binoculars. We were there in January and the mosquitoes were not a problem. Plan to stay awhile to fully enjoy all the trails. It is a great place.

We first walked along the boardwalk; we saw lots of ducks in the stream nearby. we also saw many seabirds where the stream emptied into the bay, including a pelican. The trail is in very good condition for a nice hike. And it's free!

bring a hat and sunscreen and bug spray and you are in for a good birding day! Trails are well maintained and marked.
