The aquarium was a huge hit with my family
One of the best aquariums I’ve ever been to. My daughter so was fascinated with the sharks and jellyfish exhibits. Of course no complaints about the wonderful gift shop. The splash park was a huge hit with all of us

    Fun for kids
This is a fun aquarium! We really enjoyed taking our 3 kids there while we were visiting the area. Most of the staff were very friendly and kind. I will say that the young woman monitoring the interactive stingray exhibit probably should not work with children. When it came time to feed the stingrays she made sure all of the adults that had just walked up had the opportunity and only a few of the children. Many of the children had been waiting close to an hour in excitement only to walk away in tears. Prior to that she had been snapping at the kids for even standing near the exhibit but said nothing to the group of adults close to her age. I will say that the lady that came out and gave the talk about the stingrays was lovely. Outside of the stingray exhibit the rest was a lot of fun. They do have food and drinks on site so that makes it a lit easier with children, just bring plenty of cash.

    A perfect calm outing
We are pass holders. Expect to spend 2.5 hours here. This aquarium is like no other. It isn’t crowded and you can spend 5 minutes sitting with the dolphins alone. The turtles are friendly! The 4d theater is a real treat. Food here is very tasty and the view is wonderful. You can walk to the Lexington from here.

    Fabulous
What makes this aquarium STUNNING to me is that it is mainly geared to education and conservation not just splashy shows. Although there are interactive experiences and splashy dolphin shows. More importantly, the large marine animals: dolphins, sharks, rays sea turtles and others are all rescues with names and stories you can read in their website. (I’d recommend reading about them before you go.) Also the focus is on flora and fauna found on the Gulf Coast and the Caribbean and the different areas highlight the beauty and challenges of each area. Lastly, the largest Marine Rescue Center is a beautiful facility adjacent to the Aquarium and is worth learning about as well. Give yourself at least 4 hours to really enjoy all the exhibits.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at our aquarium! We're thrilled that you found our emphasis on education, conservation, and showcasing rescued marine animals to be the highlight of your visit. Your suggestion to read about our animals before visiting is spot on! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our interactive experiences and dolphins presentation, as well as exploring the diverse ecosystems of the Gulf Coast and Caribbean through our exhibits. Additionally, we're grateful for taking the time to visit our Center for Wildlife Rescue, which plays a vital role in our mission. Once again, thank you for your glowing review and for your support of our conservation efforts. We can't wait to welcome you back soon!

    Worth the visit
The mission of the aquarium is very admirable. Rescuing and rehabilitating, marine life is a noble pursuit. Very educational experience when you take the time to visit with staff and presenters. Greatly improved from the first time I was there many years ago.
Thank you so much for your kind review of the Texas State Aquarium. Your feedback means the world to us and keeps us enthusiastic about our mission of conserving wildlife and developing science advocates to build a resilient Texas Gulf Coast and beyond. We are thrilled that you had an amazing time at our Aquarium, with over 300 animal species to see and learn about, and glad you had the chance to visit with and learn from our knowledgeable staff.

    Well Done Aquarium
Lots of sea life to see in the Gulf of Mexico exhibit including sharks, jellyfish, coral, and hermit crabs. I really enjoyed the Caribbean Journey section with the flamingos and macaw. The signs said there was other wildlife in there, but I didn’t see them. We watched a 4D movie on sea turtles that was really good. We struck out at the Dolphin Bay, we didn’t see them in the tank. Outside we saw the alligator, rays, sea turtles, and a really cute otter. This is a really pricy attraction, I am not sure that it was really worth almost $90 for two adults.
Thank you for your feedback, we apologize that your experience may have fallen short of expectations. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are sprinkled around the Aquarium, near each exhibit to guide our visitors and to answer any questions. As the largest Aquarium in Texas, we strive to give our guests an educational and interactive visit with 300+ species on exhibit, 4D shows, touch pools, animal presentations, and so much more. We also offer a Map & Visitor Guide in the lobby that displays our presentation times. As a nonprofit aquarium, your admission also supports our animal care, our Wildlife Rescue, and conservation programs. We truly appreciate your visit and your feedback, and we hope you can give us another in the future.

    Very nice aquarium
We visited beginning of July. We were in the area visiting family who is stationed here. We were 3 adults and one child under 2. The aquarium is very nice and big. Lots of animals and fish. Everything is laid out very nice and accessible. It was very crowded the day we went but was still able to enjoy the aquarium and see everything and participate is activities. Spent about 4 hours here. It’s very nice and clean. Staff is friendly. Has several food and beverage areas. Nice outdoor area. Nice shaded areas to sit and rest. Prices didn’t seem too expensive. Parking was easily accessible. Nice outdoor splash area, we didn’t stop here but seemed to be very popular spot and a very nice area. We will come back again when we come back to town and will recommend.

    Just OK.
If you’ve never been to aquariums before, this one would likely be a 5. But compared to other places I’ve been (like Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX or the aquarium in Gatllinburg, TN), this was just a 3. It’s also quite overpriced. We went to the Wildlife Rescue Center too, thinking maybe there would be an interesting program or something, but there wasn’t anything. All we saw was a bunch of empty tanks and one large sea turtle. Unless you’ve never been to an aquarium, I’d skip this one and spend all day at the USS Lexington, just a few minutes away from the aquarium.
Thank you for your feedback, and we do apologize that your experience during your visit made you feel that way. We can't help but wonder if perhaps you did not have the opportunity to experience everything that we have to offer here. The Center for Wildlife Rescue works in rehabilitating injured animals, so depending on the time of year, we unpredictably may have more animals than, perhaps, another time of year. As the largest Aquarium in Texas, we strive to give our guests an educational and interactive visit with 300+ species on exhibit, touch pools, animal presentations, and so much more. As a nonprofit aquarium, your admission also supports our animal care, our Wildlife Rescue, and conservation programs. Thank you for your visit and we hope you can give us another in the future.

    Nice aquarium on the bay
A little difficult to find the location due to construction all around the area. Purchased tickets and parking voucher online. We’ve visited many aquariums and this one was priced higher than I would expect for the size and exhibits. It is a very nice establishment and a plus that it’s on the bay. We got beautiful scenery and pictures. We enjoyed the dolphin show. The splash pad looked super fun but we weren’t prepared for that so we skipped it. This outing was only about 2 hours for us to comfortably see it all and watch the dolphin show.

    Ok at best
Ok overall but not worth the expensive entry fee. I was shocked by the cost compared to what was there. We’ve been to many aquariums and this was by far the most expensive and the most underwhelming. The dolphin show is your typical dolphin show and does nothing to support the message of saving the ocean and ocean life. If anything you feel sad for the dolphins. We would definitely not go there again or recommend this to others.

It was a great visit. Hint: Buy your tickets online as well as your $5 parking pass, the ticket taker will give you a token for your parking. The facility was very crowded (we came on a Saturday so we deserve that). Nevertheless, it was a great place to spend 2-3 hours looking at the exhibits, indoor and outdoor.

Thanks so much devinh, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. And you are right, Saturdays, particularly during spring break, are definitely our very busiest times of the year. I hope you might consider visiting again, and I always recommend folks to come right when we open, the first hour or two usually are not as crowded. Tom

Being both mid December and mid week, we enjoyed low crowd numbers on our visit to the Texas State Aquarium, which made for a relaxing visit.

The dolphin show was fantastic, the emphasis was on the individual history of each dolphin, and with a very small seating area, we got to sit very close and enjoy and learn about the dolphins and the eco work of the Aquarium.

There were other shows also, all focusing on the environmental side, and walking through the displays was peaceful. I could have easily spent the full day here. Only recommendation was that it would be lovely to have the lunch spot in view of the exhibits rather than in halls/corridors, which was a bit off putting. Otherwise, I would definitely go again.

This is a rather large aquarium to be certain. It is broken up into 3 main areas. One that focuses on aquatic life found in the gulf. A second that features marine creatures as well as terrestrial critters from the Mexico and the Caribbean. Lastly there is a large outdoor area that has some of the marine creatures that require more space to roam. Those include dolphins, turtles, rays and otters.

A good deal of thought and money have been put into the layout and theming of the tanks and habitats and it shows. There are also a couple of large props that make for good photo ops, if you want more than fish pictures from the experience. A fairly big and varied gift shop is also on site with reasonable prices.

I will say the one small but sour chord in my visit came from attempting to purchase a beer at their caffe. Apparently beer isn't sold during week days. A bizarre policy that I can't see the advantage of keeping considering it only serves to deny customers a product they already carry. It only hurts them financially in the long run. However I wont let that one small inconvenience mire what is an otherwise spectacular attraction.

We are Senior Citizens. I went to their web site to check rates. It stated $21.95 per person but it was on sale for $18.95. I did not attempt to order online because I did not know what day we would arrive. We arrived on 08/17/21. We were told that the rate was $35 per person. I complained. A manager was called. She laughed and said that is the rate,

Hello Robert, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We can't help to wonder if you got redirected to an unofficial website/third party website that offered different pricing options. Would you be comfortable sharing with us the link where you saw the pricing you mention? We are looking into this issue and want to make sure we find the page where you saw that pricing so we can update their information. We sell tickets online, and this is the first time we have heard about this particular issue. For weekday tickets, the listed discounted price for senior citizens is $33.95, and for weekends the listed price is $36.95. As a nonprofit aquarium, your admission supports our animal care, Wildlife Rescue, and conservation programs. We hope you can give us another in the future. Thank you, Carla

We enjoyed our visit to the aquarium. Tickets are around $40 for adults and parking is $5 but it was totally worth it. There is so much to see here. Our absolute favorite was the dolphin show so be sure to check show times and make that happen....such a fun experience! I've been to other aquariums and this is definitely one of my favorite. We will be back.

This is One of those places that you want to go once but you probably wouldn’t go again because of the cost. I know that a large portion of your admission goes to research and to help the animals but still, it was very expensive to seniors on a limited budget and we tried to find discount tickets in advance. However, we enjoyed talking to a lot of the staff who were very knowledgeable and friendly.

The Texas State Aquarium is a bit pricey. For myself, my husband, and our 6 year old son and the $5 parking fee, it came to about $103 dollars for a weekday visit...and that's because we save some money by purchasing our tickets online. Personally, I think it's a little overpriced, but it is fun.

There was a lot to see especially this go round. Our last visit was about 5 years ago. We made sure to go to every exhibit so we wouldn't miss out. There are so many different species of fish, jellyfish, sharks, crabs, etc. Lots of good photo ops too. My son was excited to pet a shark, a jellyfish, a stingray, and a hermit crab. He enjoyed the petting thing the most.

The 4D theater was interesting and fun! We saw a shark documentary. That was my favorite!

We were disappointed that there were no Eagles, alligators, and ocelot (at least I think it was supposed to be an ocelot). Everything else was cool to see though, and we enjoyed the dolphin show.

The aquarium was very clean as were the restrooms. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

The gift shop had a lot of empty shelf space. I'm thinking this is because of all the flooding and rain Corpus had just had. Perhaps they hadn't been able to receive their delivery. However, the gift shop is extremely expensive. I wanted a tie-dye t-shirt, and it was $36! A small bag of shark gummies was $6, so yeah, hard pass for us on the gift shop.

There was a little water area for the kids, but we didn't go to that (much to my son's dismay). It looked fun though.

We were there a little past 10am on a Monday, and it was very crowded, so just be aware that this is an extremely crowded place.

This is definitely a fun place to take the kids for a day out. As I've said, it is pricey, but this isn't something you'd do all the time.

I went to the aquarium on Tuesday, April 27th 2021, during a mini vacation to Corpus. I was fully expecting to pay around 35-37 dollars for my ticket. I was SO surprised to find out I only had to pay 2.00 thanks to Community Day!!
What a beautiful place. It's large, with many stunning exhibits, so it really didn't feel too crowded, even though it was. There's so much to see, you can easily move to a lesser crowded area. It's well worth the visit!
Everyone was wearing a mask and there was hand sanitizer in various locations.

This is a very nice aquarium, great for families. They have a splash pad for kids, a decent cafe (the food was pricy but it was good, definitely a step above what you normally see at places like this), and lots of interactive exhibits where you can pet or touch an animal. Some of the family did the "Snorkel with a Shark" activity. I felt like we were not adequately prepared with how cold the water would be! Despite that, it was a good time. We would definitely go again!
