Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

Nice Aquarium, a little small. The best part for me was touching the jelly fish, they feel like jello!(in case you were wondering) You could also touch stingrays, starfish, and a few other things. Little kids would probably love it! I liked the variety of jelly fish they had and the octopus was cool but they really didnt have any... More

We visited the Texas State Aquarium last week and we were extremely disappointed. The place needs maintenance. The glass that you look through was extremely dirty making it difficult to take a decent picture. Wood rails need to be refinished. We purchased our tickets online and when we arrived not one person asked to see them. We finally took them... More

We really enjoyed the hands on experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the turtle display was under construction but understandable. The location is beautiful. The dolphin show is a must. And getting the souvineer cup in cafe is well worth it since it's free refills. We loved the entire experience!!!!

We visited the Texas State Aquarium for the first time on Labor Day. The animal encounters and feeding sessions were exactly what my young boys loved. It's really hard to keep a 2 and 3 year old entertained by looking at fish and turtles. The various interactive exhibits lengthened our stay and prevented the typical melt downs experienced by toddlers.... More

This is a low key place to visit. Our six year old grand-daughter liked it. She could touch jellyfish and sting rays. The shows are every half hour and feature Dolphins, otters, and birds. She liked it all. There is limited shade for the shows so it was a bit of a hot day. food is fairly expensive, as is... More

We live about an hour from Corpus and have visited there several times. Had never made it to the aquarium before. Was extremely impressed. Great aquarium- in the top two I have been to in the country- right below Atlanta.

My husband and I have wanted to visit this aquarium for years. Our family are all into tropical fish and really enjoyed our visit. They have a new expansion area under construction which is supposed to be finished next year and the sea turtle exhibit was closed for maintenance but there was still lots to see. We got to touch... The Best Aquarium in S.Texas. Plenty to do for little kids as well as mom and dad. Small but very pleasurable and educational too.

The Texas State Aquarium is a wonderful little attraction. There was a lot of parking available, even on a holiday weekend. (We went during Labor Day weekend) Parking is $5. Ticket prices may seem a little pricey ($23.95 for adults and kids 13 and up), but you can save $3 per ticket by ordering in advance online. Also, the aquarium... More
