Down under, and not just under ground Mate

Very nice small walk thru cavern plus a petting zoo with actual kangaroos. Be sure to buy a cup of veggies to feed them, they come right up to you. They are adding to petting zoo also.
We stayed between 1-2 hours total. A family with kids could stay even longer as they had a panning station and a rock "dig" station.
Not real big, if it had more to it would have given 5 stars but definitely worth a stop if you're in the area for a float trip or something.

We visited as a family. Was kind of fun digging around for gem stones. The cave tour was a bit of a miss. We toured with another - unrelated- family of five. So ten total including our guide. That’s too many for how tight this cave is. It’s single file the whole way. I wouldn’t suggest more than five at a time. Being in the back we couldn’t hear or see anything that the guide was talking about. Having been through the Mark Twain and Cameron Caves in Hannibal, MO several times to compare, the guide was very knowledgeable about different aspects of the cave. A history of the cave wasn’t really given, or how, when it was discovered. Just that it changed hands several times before the current ownership. Also the cave had water - about two inches- through a good deal of it. This would have been good to know before we got to the water...I would highly suggest to management especially with Covid that smaller groups or one family at a time be taken on tours.

Wonderful place to go.

Went with my 6 grandkids ages 4 to 19 and they had the best time. They enjoyed panning for the gems almost more than the cave. The guide and others were so friendly and helpful.

Good cavern!

Good formations. The blacklight tour is different and really neat. Be aware that if there has been alot of rain that you will be in ankle deep water through the cavern.

Amazing!!

This place was AMAZING. We did the "Park Pass" which included the cave tour, gem mining and excavating for $25/person. This is on our list to stop at again and again! The ladies were so fun, kind and generous with our kiddos! Bonus, the gem mining bags were LOADED with gemstones. In comparison with the mine we did in North Carolina a few years ago, we screened out about 5x as many gems for 1/3 of the price. We had an awesome time here and the girls are already asking to go back!

My husband and myself with another couple went to this cave. For a extra couple bucks we went ahead and did the package where you can pan gems or fossils and also dig for gems and fossils. The guides were kind and sweet full of knowledge. The cave was nice and cool on a super hot day. There were spots in the cave that were super tight and low. If your taller then 6ft you might have issues getting through the cave. If your large built it would also be a tight squeeze.

Good time, a little expensive.

Fun little treasure! Cave exploring and zip lining were fun. (We felt very safe!) Gemstone/rock quarry fun for the kids. The nature center was okay, but could have done without it. Picnic area available. Staff friendly but rigid.

Short intimate cave tour
Jul 2018 • Family
This cave was a relatively short tour, It felt like real cave exploration as we had flashlights and had to duck and squeeze thorough some areas. It only lasted about 30 minutes. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have some fossils to look at, a few local snakes, and some box turtles that we learned a lot about. My 9 year old daughter enjoyed our visit. I wouldn't recommend anyone with physical limitation or very young children for the cave tour.

Our family has seen nearly all of the caves in Missouri but we didn't know about this one until recently. Our goal was to add this one to our bucket list, but it would be a great place to visit again for the rest of the attractions!
The guided tour began with a visit to their wildlife museum. Snakes and fossils are always a hit with my boys, including Dad. Then it was a short walk over to the cave, with interesting history of the homestead there.
The cave is fairly short and close - you walk through single file and have to lean over quite a bit - but lots of interesting formations. If I lived in the area "back in the day", I would have been in there all summer!
The "hard hats" for the cave are actually just crinkly plastic, but they warn you with a sound if you're about to actually hit your head on the ceiling, which is easy to do.
The little gift shop was awesome - I bought jewelry and "twig pencils" which they make there. The owners have done lots of landscaping work to make the grounds and the little pond very pretty - would be a wonderful spot for a picnic.
We did not get a chance to zipline but hope to visit again!

Unfriendly to say the least

Passed by going to Branson and decided to stop. The owners were both outside the welcome building when we pulled in. We walked around some. They would not speak until we spoke to them. We weren't going to tour the cave, just pan for gold and buy some souvenirs because we had our 2 small Yorkie dogs with us. The man was very short with us when we asked about panning for gold. As we walked to the ticket building with him he just became more and more unfriendly. He finally told us we just needed to go put the dogs in the car. It was 94 degrees out and he was just unfriendly. We just left. I understand that some people are not dog lovers, but we were carrying them in our arms and we were outside. Rude people like this really hurt entrepreneurs and small businessmen in this country. Next time we will drive on to the bigger tourist stops.
