Foris Vineyards and Winery produce some FABULOUS wines. They are little bit off the beaten track but do have excellent signs placed on the road to get you there. They have a small tasting room located at their main vineyard and bottling site. The tasting room is open from 11am to 5pm, daily and there is no cost to taste. They have a great selection including a wonderful Moscato, Syrah Port, a mixed varietal called Fly Over Red, an EXCELLENT Merlot and their Maple Ranch Pinot Noir is to die for ($30 a bottle). They always seem to have a great selection of everything and their prices range from $7 a bottle to about $30 a bottle. If you are in the area and have a chance to sample these wines I highly recommend stopping by.

This is a charming rural winery. It's very out of the way and I dropped in mid day and had to ring the bell. The woman who came out and served me at the tasting bar was super friendly and nice and, unlike in Napa, the tasting was free. I bought a couple of bottles of my favorite, Flyover Red, and a bottle of the Pinot Gris, which was delicious! Well worth a visit if you are visiting the Oregon Caves or in the Illinois Valley.

I stopped in on my way home from the Oregon Caves. I'd already had their Fly Over Red and liked it and had a chance to experience the Cave Bear Red at the Caves - you can only get that one at the winery or at the caves so it was worth the trip.
Good selection of wines and the tasting experience was pleasant.

A quaint establishment worth the visit. The Pinot noir alone is worth the drive. Peaceful environment and beautiful labels.

We stopped here on our way between Cave Junction and the Oregon caves. The grounds are very pretty with lots of flowers. They were friendly and we were able to sample 3 reds and 3 whites. A little off the beaten path, but made it more fun to get there.

I have enjoyed wines from over 200 Oregon wineries, and some of the best have come from Forks. There are two extraordinary elements to the winery that make it unique:
#1: Their location. They are so isolated that deer are always around and bears are more of a concern to the winery than birds. The location creates microclimates that allow them to make a wide range of wines that are good.
#2: Some of their wines are among the best around, but more impressive is their consistency. I have never had a bad wine from Foris; they are a perfect "when in doubt" wine for any wine list.

Spent a couple of hours at Foris touring the winery and tasting wines. Loved learning the history of the property and seeing the old mining tailings (now being crushed into gravel). Surprise, surprise there is no tasting fee or a limit on the number of wines that could be tasted. Both whites and reds were quite excellent, but especially enjoyed the Moscato. Property is lovely, nestled in the Illinois valley. No fancy-schmancy tasting room here -- just good wines made by down-to-earth people who love making wine! The dogs are sweet too!

If one is visiting the Oregon Caves, don't miss visiting the Foris Winery. You'll ring the bell and staff will answer. Friendly staff, intimate tasting room. Good wines. Outstanding moscato wine, maybe the best I've ever had--I bought a case. The Fly Over Red is a good buy. Pretty good Pinot Noir, too. Be sure to ask about the history of the vineyards and who the family bought it from. Ask for a tour of the winery if they are not busy, it's really fun.

I stopped in at harvest time and was able to go on a tour of the winery and even taste some wine from the barrel. There was no fee for any of this and to top it off the wines were excellent. The lady working that day, Lorena, was very friendly and helpful. I will surely be back every time I pass through this way.
