This was not on our planned visit of the city, however we thought it would be interesting to take a quick look. Well, that was a mistake. This is a GREAT place. If you have any interest in your family history take the time to go here. There are incredible helpful volunteers everywhere who will walk you thru the process of your ancestry. I would have loved to have spent two days here but unfortunately we just weren't able to. My best advice is to just go and experience it. Loved it but then I'm a family history buff.…

Unfortunately, my wife has not been able to get much family history from others in her family. The folks here were very helpful in helping her find a number of family members online. We were both pleasantly surprised. The 45 minutes or so here has given her some good leads and encouragement in tracing her family roots. This was truly one of the better experiences in SLC.…

I had the opportunity to go to the library twice while I was in Salt Lake City. Very modern and they have volunteers who will sit there with you and help you. Many of them speak different languages which is great when you are looking at foreign document. If I have the opportunity I would go back there again. I am not a family history buff. However, when in Salt Lake City, the opportunity to do some family research is irresistible. A guide helped me to find information on my grandparents. There is a whole separate section just for the British Isles. It was thrilling to see copies of birth records and census documents for my grandparents. A visit here is highly recommended. …
