Explorer unique shops in an historic setting.
Dec 2019
Where else can you explore a shopping mall built inside of 1906 Trolley Barns?
They were built by Mr. E.H. Herriman of the Union Pacific Railroad, around the same time he was pursuing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Check out the Trolley Square website for lots of interesting history.
Along with all the fun shops, Trolley Square is a great place for lunch or dinner, the Old Spaghetti Factory being a favorite.
A must see is Olive & Cocoa, a very unique gift store across from Williams Sonoma.
On my next visit, I plan on seeing The Trolley Square Museum, which has limited hours. Call ahead for hours.

Nice place but pretty empty this time
Sep 2019
We have visited here several times in the past and it was quite full, whereas now, one day after Labor Day, it was really empty. The structure of this mall is very interesting, there are cute shops and some restaurant (in one of which we also are: The Old Spaghetti Factory), but there were only few visitors, probably due to the time of our visit.

Not your average shopping mall
Mar 2019 • Friends
I loved this small mall. We went for the ice cream at Normal Club Ice Cream which is a food truck parked inside. Wonderful!! We also ended up going into Tabula Rasa and spending about 45 minutes wandering this very interesting store. I was looking for post cards and found a wonderful variety of boxed postcards and stationary plus pens and botanical and travel books and a lot more miscellany. We did walk from one end to the other but did not go into any other stores.... no time.

I highly recommend visiting Trolley Square.

Nothing special

Most of the storefronts are empty. Nice old building but no real content. Whole Foods was great, glad they are there.
Spend your tourist time elsewhere.

An old converted trolley station
Sep 2018 • Business
I love seeing converted pieces of history. This place is beautiful to look at. The shops are OK. However, there is a gem of a store inside, Tabula Rasa. If you love old architecture and discovering one of kind stores. Stop here.

Rare Local Flavor
Jul 2018 • Family
Unlike the vast majority of shopping malls in the Salt Lake Valley, Trolley Square seems committed to giving shoppers a taste of local flavor. There are a few truly awesome shops here: The Machine Age -- a steampunk-inspired local artist/antiquarian shop -- is a personal favorite; Tabula Rasa, a super classy stationery store complete with hand-wound watches and old-style fountain pens is another top choice. Weller Books and Coffee Connection are also fun and a great place to browse and hang out -- among other quirky local offerings. The mall itself is partially enclosed, and the indoor part is by far the best, both in terms of decor, and the shops. The outdoor part is not nearly as pretty, and is the home of the chain stores (Pottery Barn and Whole Foods). The only down side is that probably about have of the store fronts (indoor and out) are empty, which is too bad, but definitely shouldn't keep you from visiting!

Nice visit
Apr 2018 • Couples
We took my mother in law to a restaurant here for her birthday and as such wandered through trolley square. She has a wheeled walker and she seemed to navigate the uneven brick floor while visiting. Parking out front near the tower can be challenging but there is alternative parking just south of Trolley Square off 600 South. Take the foot bridge up and over the road to easily access the square. Nice little visit with boutique style shops to entice you.

Wander through the shops
Feb 2018 • Couples
There are some very cool antique and book shops here - but not much else. The area is clearly just starting to get developed again and needs a little more diversity in the types of stores available to be a destination. You can definitely kill an hour or two here, but nothing out of the ordinary.
