My parents and I visited the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art during our roadtrip west and thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits on display during summer 2022. As someone who lives abroad in the GCC, I was glad to see a Saudi artists prominently featured in the exhibit in the main gallery. We also enjoyed the exhibit focused on renewable artifacts in the city. If you're downtown and looking for a thought-provoking opportunity while in SLC, stop in!

Wow…crazy that an art museum didn’t have a single piece of actual art. The most artistic thing in the entire building was the staircase. Every art installation was a weak attempt at at some woke garbage. Don’t mind the messaging if there’s some attempt at actual art. But this looked more like a high school failures project. Do yourself a favor and pass on visiting this “art” museum.

Could not relate at all. Chicken in middle of the floor, torn flags on another wall, and woman sun bather picture on wall all left our two couples cold. Charming man at the desk and next door visitors’ center helped the experience. For their superb location, I expected so much more.

While the MOCA has just four galleries, we found the quality of the art to be above average for such a small museum. Staff were friendly and offered good suggestions for the nearby neighborhood. The art itself ranged from local art to international pieces – budget 20 to 30 minutes for a visit. Admission is a suggested donation of $5.

Well. It's got some art that perhaps we might not all appreciate. Nice effort Salt Lake. Doesn't take much time to see it in entirely.

I enjoy contemporary art. I always think "I could do that!" I enjoyed the Mike Simi Gettin' By exhibit. It was enjoyable. The museum is small but a great way to spend an hour appreciating the artistic endeavors of others. It's free but for a $5 donation, I got a pin!

A very small museum with uninspiring "contemporary" exhibitions. One exhibit is titled "Working Hard To Be Useless" which pretty much sums up my impression of the displayed works. Very disappointed.

We eagerly seek out art museums during our travels. We were quite disappointed with this small museum, housed in an architecturally uninspired building. The current exhibitions are lackluster at best. Too bad, as Salt Lake City could use some culture!

The museum is large, but the exhibits are small and reminiscent of freshman art class. Two of the twenty exhibits made me pause in satisfaction, but most were too focused on trying to be "edgy" or make a political statement than capture any appreciation of life, art, or society.
Also, parking is $2.
