I flew into Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon. I was told to check out Harmons. It was a welcomed respite, given this time; Corona Pandemic. Even with and in spite of the aforementioned , the store was brightly lit, welcoming, stocked shelves and an endless variety of food, etc. Precautions in order; social distancing, etc. Staffed with great folk. Given I was flying out the next day, I left with two shopping bags. What was I thinking? Great shopping experience and highly recommend visiting.

Great grocery store / market with wonderful food choices at reasonable prices in downtown SLC. Choose from sandwiches, salad bar, hot bar with Asian foods, sushi, and other gourmet items. Great visual merchandising!

Wow, what a beautiful grocery store! My husband and I were visiting City Creek with some friends and decided to walk over to this Harmon's. You can get to the underground tunnel by going down the escalators/stairs in City Creek's food court. There is Gelato on the upper floor of Harmon's where we walked in. It looks like they had everything! :)

I went to Harmon's today and was extremely offended to be asked for my I.D. to buy beer. I am 71 years old and do not find it charming or flattering at all. The other grocery stores in Salt Lake have never asked for my I.D. because apparently they have the common sense to know that an older woman is not under 21.

We went to this store around 11:30 on a Sunday looking for a rotisserie chicken that was advertised on the website. We didn’t find any so asked. It was quite surprising to find out that they had no chickens-were out of them. After walking around the store looking for something to eat we left with nothing. You could not get a sandwich made, as advertised, unless you ordered ahead of time.

I've gone in a couple times now, and each time seems to be a worse experience then the last. My boyfriend and I were picking up energy drinks, which they had on sale. Same brand, different flavors. Only about $.50 off on the sale. When we went to the check out, one rang in at full price. Vs. just giving us the sale, or checking the prices, the clerk called over the manager who then point plank asked if we were lying about the prices. I was totally dumb founded. My boyfriend who was in grocery management for several years was totally shocked and we were both totally offended. Being called lairs is outrageous, especially when buying the same product, and when it would have been easy enough for anyone to walk the few feet to the cold drinks isle and check the price.

On Sunday, we went back. They have an Asian food bar which we wanted to try. We got there are just after 7 PM. The food was still out and we noticed one of the staff hanging around. We were attempting to get some food when the clerk stopped up saying the Asian Bar closed at 7PM. The food was still out, it would have been easy enough to allow us to grab some. However we were refused. Given most people eat somewhere between 5-7PM it was insane. We left angry.

The store is lovely. The prices suck like most Harmon's which is why I rarely shop Harmon's anyway. Beyond that they have some specialty items that you can also get at either Whole Foods or Sunflower Market. Sunflower had the better prices, friendly staff and good customer service. Harmon's is awful. I don't recommend it to anyone.

One of the best ways to see how a city works - or how the locals live - is to visit a local grocery market. Salt Lake City now has a downtown market that is world class in every way and truly showcases how it wants the world to see it.

Entering this gorgeous store one is hit with the shear size of the place - it's huge! The first thing I'd recommend is going to the second floor to look over the entire grocery level on the first floor. This vantage point will help you navigate once you're down there.

The produce is varied and unique. I've not seen a larger display of dragon fruit anywhere - even in Asia.

The bakery staff is welcoming and offers samples of almost everything. (If you get a chance to taste the holiday sugar cookies - go for it. They are not intended for haute cuisine but are an American classic with the perfect balance of vanilla and almond. Rich and over-the-top sweet.)

Shelving in the aisles is something like 7 or 8 feet high with a dazzling array of items. Each food item has 3-4 different brands available from low to high price points. With the gorgeous lighting, even no-name brands look appealing.

This is the perfect market for the visitor with a salad, sushi & wok bar, deli, coffee & gelato bar, pizza, and many single serving items available should you want to choreograph a picnic in the mountains or pull together a midnight snack for your hotel room.

Parking was underground (perfect in the winter) and was validated with purchase. Not sure if that was a promo for the day or is available year-round. In any event, Harmon's City Creek is well worth a visit for the foodie and non-foodie alike. After all, everybody eats eventually.....

Now THIS is a destination store, one we were delighted to find on a recent stopover in Salt Lake City. My girlfriend and I categorize this market as a “food Disneyland” (yes, we’re grocery store nerds), and was it ever chock-full of food and fun!

First, it’s enormous: two stories, with the grocery store below, and a cafe, post office, bakery, and gelato bar above. It’s beautifully laid out, and there is a wonderful variety of everything you can imagine. They don’t have as much organic and ethically sourced items as we’re used to in our hometown store (PCC, in the Seattle area), but let me share the top favorite things about the store’s offerings:

Absolutely delicious pizza, with a pastry-like soft, puffy crust (the margherita with balsamic drizzle is outrageously good!)

A massive selection of international chocolates, the likes of which will dazzle any chocolate lover

Grass-fed burgers and hand-cut fries at the cafe. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had, which is saying a lot!

Crazy yummy gelato (get a large with two flavors ... you’ll want that much to savor it!)

A honey dispensary you can fill your own bottle with and get only the amount you want. Pretty cool!

An artisan bakery with the softest, most delicious organic-flour ciabatta sandwich rolls you’ll ever have.

It sounds crazy, I know, but we would go back to SLC in large part because Harmon’s is there, not to mention it’s a beautiful city that’s very visitor friendly!

Everything here is way more expensive than a typical grocery store. Even sale items are more expensive. Don't buy a gift card here because the fees will erode a $25 value after just two years. Good tomato basil soup, though, even if it did cost me $32 when I figure in the gift card.

Spent a week in Salt Lake City for the DoTERRA Global Convention and the Essential Oil Nurses Conference. Stayed near City Creek mall, and Harmon's is just a quick 10 minute walk. Great grocery selection and salad bar, so I was able to stock up for three days before the rest of my team came in. Their Take and Bake pizza was actually pretty taste, great crust - I bought some Beyond Meat sausages, cut them up and baked the pie.

Very convenient and economical.
