Best thing about City Creek Park is that dogs are allowed to run off-leash. With water nearby. And lots of other dogs. The footpath is dusty as all hell. Dark, silty sort of dust, the kind that Wheaten terriers seem to love to roll in. After they've been in City Creek. Good news: terrier gets a shower at least once... More

Gently sloping paved street climbs for a few miles next to a pleasant wooded stream. Most of the walk is in the shade. After passing through Memory Grove (WWI), one is often alone for short stretches, passing friendly folk coming the other way. The road is shared with bikes, so watch out. We go in the mornings, so have seen... More

This is a great place to go that is close to downtown. It is a respite from the heat of summer. Dogs are welcome on a leash (and cleaned up after). We have hiked here in all seasons. The main walking area is shared with bicycles and a car or two and is paved. There are some dirt trails that... More

This canyon is beautiful year round. I have been there during every season and the trails are clean and well kept and pet friendly.

Very easy to walk the main trail. Very peaceful and scenic. If you leave the main trail all bets are off. Not bad just loose stone and paths are not level. Along one side trail came across a place that was serving as someone's home.

City Creek Canyon is lovely place to walk on a weekday. You can walk for miles on a either a paved road or maintained trail that on many days is car and bicycle free and parallels a creek. The trees and plants are just starting to return from their winter break. The weekends there is much more pedestrian traffic.

Welcome to downtown Salt Lake City and when you are here visiting and need a run don't settle for sidewalk jogging. Head east on State Street up past the Capitol to the right and you are heading into City Creek Canyon. A nice 10 mile round trip run. I look forward to seeing you, I'm the guy that waves to... More

Peaceful and inspirational facility, with restricted walking/cycling paved road for>6 miles, with beautiful scenery, alongside the flowing City Creek.

My family and I love going up City Creek Canyon for picnics, walks, and hikes. The proximity to downtown SLC is fantastic!

This little canyon is beautiful. You can stroll, enjoy a park like setting, or hike to a higher elevations. The minute you enter this canyon you'll breath deeper and feel the stress vanish.
