Right from downtown SLC, you can walk into the foothills along a paved path that feels like you are somewhere else; It's an easy walk and the elevation gain is very gentle, so it's accessible to everyone at one level or another. The higher you...More

City Park , as it is called, is a rather flat, paved walk starting just east of the Utah State Capitol. The canyon is largely in the shade in the late afternoon/early evening sothis is a very nice walk on a hot day. It is...More

This is a beautiful area with beautiful views. It's also very close to Memorial Grove Parek, which I would also suggest seeing while you visit.

This a beautiful, hidden oasis minutes from downtown. You can bike ride up on odd days of the month and drive up on even days. There are bathrooms and picnic tables. It is a very peaceful canyon!

Nice paved trail/road with bathrooms, picnic tables, fresh drinking water, choke cherries, a creek, even tarantulas! It's quite busy though, with other pedestrians and cyclists. We love the many trails that take off from City Creek, including The Bonneville Shoreline Trail! Yesterday we hiked 8...More

This is where I took my pugs as puppies to frolic in the creek, hike and play with other dogs. It is right next to the heart of Salt Lake City's downtown and you might even see (hopefully not encounter) a mountain lion. Great place.

You start your journey near Brigham Young Park and make your way following City Creek to the Canyon. It is a nice creek of mountain water that ends in a park in between two high cliffs. Walk up one side to see the Utah State...More

Vehicle travel is allowed on even numbered days if you have a picnic spot reserved up the canyon. Not sure if vehicles are allowed without a picnic site reservation. There is a small fee of just a few dollars to reserve a... More
