It's amazing how far away from the city you quickly get when you hike through city creek. It's an enchanting get-away where many commuters use their noon hour to keep in shape walking beside the creek in almost any time or season. Join us!

We love City Creek Canyon. Great place for a run, walk, hike, bike ride, picnic, family reunion, or even a wedding. Tip: ask ahead of time to find out which days you can drive up the canyon (it's a few days a week).

City Creek Canyon is a local favorite - those of us who live and/or work in the downtown area know that it is easily accessible throughout the year, safe, and well maintained. On site ranger station at the base of the canyon is reassuring since...More

Right from downtown SLC, you can walk into the foothills along a paved path that feels like you are somewhere else; It's an easy walk and the elevation gain is very gentle, so it's accessible to everyone at one level or another. The higher you...More

This is a beautiful area with beautiful views. It's also very close to Memorial Grove Parek, which I would also suggest seeing while you visit.

Enjoyed a moderate hike. could have gone longer, but the windy and almost rainy weather made us hesitant to go longer, but there is at least a way to go for over 10 miles. Quiet away from crowds and traffic, passed by some parks and...More

This a beautiful, hidden oasis minutes from downtown. You can bike ride up on odd days of the month and drive up on even days. There are bathrooms and picnic tables. It is a very peaceful canyon!

Nice paved trail/road with bathrooms, picnic tables, fresh drinking water, choke cherries, a creek, even tarantulas! It's quite busy though, with other pedestrians and cyclists. We love the many trails that take off from City Creek, including The Bonneville Shoreline Trail! Yesterday we hiked 8...More

Vehicle travel is allowed on even numbered days if you have a picnic spot reserved up the canyon. Not sure if vehicles are allowed without a picnic site reservation. There is a small fee of just a few dollars to reserve a... More
