We had lunch in the café here located in the lobby. Formerly the Hotal Utah, the architecture (Italian Renaissance, I believe) is magnificent! Take the elevator to restaurants on the top floor. In the waiting area, there is a large glass window that offers a breathtaking view of the Mormon Temple and Temple Square!

There are always volunteers on hand to help you find your ancestors and to learn the procedures how to start and maintain your family lines. This place is best for the beginner. I was disappointed that they couldn't help me get past the middle 1700s, where I've reached a road block for quite some time. Be sure to save time... More

We wanted to visit the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to see two or three of the films called "Meet the Mormons". We ended up seeing three and they were all three very well done. If you only have time to see one, I would recommend "The Bishop". In addition, I would recommended having lunch on the 10th in the Garden... More

The observatory on the top floor was the best spot to see the Temple and Square and to get pictures. We didn't eat at the restaurants, but it smelled delicious!

We didn't even get down to go inside but the Joseph Smith Memorial building is nice enough to take the photo from the outside.

I've been to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building several times. Each time I've seen something different and loved my time there. The statues are wonderful and sometimes there are special displays of art.

The former Hotel Utah has quite a history and I'm so happy they are taking good care of it. The lobby is so beautiful.

This building is a beautiful legacy of the pioneers who entered the valley in 1847. The historians say it used to be a hotel but to be able to preserve its historical nature, has been kept as a memmory of remarkable men, women and children who fled persecution to establish a new land of hope and religious freedom. It is... More

This building is another example of superb architecture and serves as the visitor's center when visiting Temple Square. A great stop for historians and lovers of fine architecture.
