The John Smith building is gorgeous. It used to be a very expensive hotel and the lobby and outside of the building are a wonderful site. You can go up to the 10th floor for expansive view. The building has a large theater in which...More

Hi all, We (2 adults and 17 and 12 y.o) are arriving in SLC on June 18th (around 5 pm) staying two nights before heading off to Jackson, Yellowtone, up to Glacier and returning for overnight stay on July 12th for a late afternoon flight on July 13th. We are staying at the Salt Lake City Plaza hotel. I would like some help in organising the short amount of time we have to hit the highlights. I was thinking that the afternoon we arrive, if not too tired we could walk across the road to look...More

Your plan to head over to temple Square the day you arrive is great. You should be able to see it and enjoy the rehearsal (their first stop for their annual tour is June 25, so the 18th might be their last rehearsal before leaving, or they might already be gone). So for your full day, the family history library, conference center, Joseph Smith memorial building, church headquarters building (nice view from the top) and Beehive house could all be seen walking and depending on how long you...More
