This is a great and historic building. The chapel on the second floor gives you a idea of the architecture inside the Salt Lake Temple. The flowers are often spectacular.

I’ve visited the Joseph Smith Memorial building this past week with a group of our students that comprised the madrigal group. There was in excess of 20 of them and they sing some Christmas songs in the foyer of this beautiful old grand Hotel. I...More

I love this building. It is very ornate but a great place to go sit in a comfortable set and meditate and listen to the music being played. There are tours you can take if you want to see more of the building or other...More

The views from the 10th floor are really nice. The cafe on the first floor was good and reasonably priced. Beautiful building worth stopping in.

Located on Temple Square South.....a former hotel.....has restaurants on the top floor. Lobby area is quite ornate and is in the same condition as it when it was a hotel. Named after the founder of the Morman Church.

On our first visit to Salt Lake City, Utah, in the mid-1980s, my wife and I stayed at the luxurious Hotel Utah in the downtown area, close to Temple Square and several other tourist attractions. In 1995, the 10-story hotel, which was added to the...More

The food was very good but the ambience is what sealed the deal for us. The staff are amazing and treat you like royalty. I would recommend this establishment over any other in the area.

Help with organising a couple of days sightseeing please (8 Replies)
Hi all, We (2 adults and 17 and 12 y.o) are arriving in SLC on June 18th (around 5 pm) staying two nights before heading off to Jackson, Yellowtone, up to Glacier and returning for overnight stay on July 12th for a late afternoon flight on July 13th. We are staying at the Salt Lake City Plaza hotel. I would like some help in organising the short amount of time we have to hit the highlights. I was thinking that the afternoon we arrive, if not too tired we could walk across the road to look...More

Your plan to head over to temple Square the day you arrive is great. You should be able to see it and enjoy the rehearsal (their first stop for their annual tour is June 25, so the 18th might be their last rehearsal before leaving, or they might already be gone). So for your full day, the family history library, conference center, Joseph Smith memorial building, church headquarters building (nice view from the top) and Beehive house could all be seen walking and depending on how long you...More
