This is a great little urban plaza in the heart of SLC. During the summer there's daily 1 hr lunch concerts, free workouts in the evenings, Tuesday nights free big band dance night, Thursdays are excellence in community concerts evening and Food Trucks during lunch time. At various other times there are free and paid concerts, art fairs etc. You... More

This is a small public space in between several buildings. There are a few coffee shops in the area if that is what you like. There is not much grass to sit on here but a lot of tables. They do have a small amphitheater here where they have performances. If you are walking around downtown it is a nice... More

Très bon accueil pour une française comme moi, au Centre Gallivan à Salt Lake City. Super concert gratuit de Excellence in the Community et une piste de danse incroyable ! Merci à Jeff Whiteley pour l'organisation de la soirée. Very good reception for a french girl like me at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. Great free concert from... More

I've recently started to attend these musical events. Last night was Big Band music....with free dance lessons and dance floor. Last Thursday = salsa lessons. NOT crowded, which is always a plus. Plenty of seating [actual chairs] and plenty of green space for blankets. A few food vendors, beer, and bring-your-own edibles. It felt quite safe....downtown Salt Lake is getting... More

A public square in downtown Salt Lake City. There is a couple of fountains, a stage area, and a (small) ice skating rink. Music festivals occasionally happen here. Next to Trax station.

As one of the architectural building to see during one's visit is the Gallivan Center. Seemed to be seated in central city, the view of it from the light rail is aesthetic.

This place kind of reminds me of the Leonardo (former SLC downtown library location) in that it is a contrived and artificial place where the city tries to host different community events. It has a nice lawn and in the summer there are table tennis tables out and such, but it is sort of like that rich friend you visit... More

I had a daughter out of the country for over a year and she said that the first thing that she wanted to do was go skating here...and we did. So so fun.

Part of a walking tour during a business break. They say in summer lots of activity there, Fall not so much. Lots of modern design, restaurants near by.

Coming from France it is my first time in Utah, first time in Salt Lake City and what a delight it was to discover this outdoor concert and dance floor (that was recommended to me by locals). Great music, with 70's disco songs, jazz and rock songs as well as recent pop songs. Great artists, the singers had really nice... More
