Small, expensive, but FUN!

Love the animals. The baby lion cubs are sooooo cute. The staff really care for the animals. I enjoy taking my kids there. I like all the improvements they continue to make.

Some rare species, informative shows (be sure to see the elephants), easy to navigate, free parking and very clean, but surprisingly expensive. It starts out with a reasonable admission price, but then once you're inside, everything is extra: the train ride (don't bother), the carousel (gorgeous), feeding the giraffes ($5 for 3 pieces of lettuce), contribution requests at the bird... We moved here from Kansas. Comparatively, the Kansas City Zoo was far larger and offered more options and membership at a lower cost. My children still enjoy the visits. Last years dinosaur theme was particularly engaging with my son. The smaller zoo size enables my children to see more before getting tired. However, the rides are overpriced after spending a... We live in Utah so a zoo membership is a no brainer. It's a great place to take the kids, but as an adult it's great also. If you get the chance buy tickets to feed the giraffes awesome experience for the kids. Kids always want to go on the train, but if Jordan is the train conductor the kids... More

I was pleasantly surprised going through this zoo on our trip. I know there are bigger and better ones in other cities, but this one is bigger and has more variety of animals than our zoo at home. Gorillas, elephants, rhinos, and a polar bear were some of my favorites that I don't get to see at home. There's a... More

I grew up in the slc area so Hogle Zoo was always a field trip for us kids. I loved it then and now going back as an adult I love it more.

I don't know what I was thinking, but just so you know - this is not on the mass transit route. The nearest bus stop is a mile walk away. But once we got there the ticket price was about $16 for an adult. If you want to go on the carousel or train it's extra. Small kids my enjoy... More

I visited the zoo with my husband in July and it was amazing! The zoo staff is so friendly and helpful! Further, the animals are such beauties! From small birds to bears! It is such a fun experience!! There are areas to stop and rest, and grab something to eat, making it so easy to walk... especially in +90 degree... More

First ever visit to this zoo and we had a wonderful time. We took our three-year-old granddaughter and she loved it and so did we. The zoo is very clean, easy to navigate with lots of restaurants, wonderful exhibits, and the birds of prey show was fantastic. Our granddaughter also loved the train ride and the carousel was a big... More
