It might seem simple to adult eyes, but Discovery Gateway in Salt Lake City is full of fun for children and toddlers. We do not live in SLC, but regularly travel there for fun and to do airport pickups. Our child can be content and happy playing at Discovery Gateway for hours. The "beehive" plastic ball play area is one... More

I have three boys, ages 6, 4, and 1. I really like the Discovery Gateway. It's not as nice as Thanksgiving Point, but it's also not as expensive for a membership. It's nice because there's only one exit so the kids can play and stay contained and I'm not stressed about where they are and what they're doing. It's one... More

aimed at hands on interactions for kids of all ages. I was there working with friends who are building a model railroad for the children to be able to run. The children are encouraged to watch and even participate as the layout is being built. Don't forget to get your discount parking pass for the garage below the museum.

Although it was expensive for our whole family we spent many fun hours here. My son loved the ball pit/play, water space, the gym, and running legos down the race pit. They were about to close at 7pm on a Friday(which is inaccurate in google, along with the address) so we didnt get to out onto the terrace where they... More

I bought a membership but I wish I could get my money back. The first time I came here a little over a year ago, I was impressed and I loved it. But each subsequent time, it has gone downhill a little more each visit. Pretty much when something breaks, that's the end if it. There is no maintenance. Sure,... More

We were very impressed by the kids discovery museum! We planned on dropping in for an hour or so but ended up spending half the day and still didn't get to try everything. My children aged 4 and 7 were engaged with all activities. If we ever visit SLC again the museum would be top of our list of places... More

I like this place and have a membership. It is smaller than some of the Discovery Museums I have been to but it is fun. I think it is more geared to very small kids.

Even though many of the retailers moved to City Creek, Gateway still offers much for the whole family. There are top of the line stores, great places to eat, and a water play area for the kids. Activities are planned all year round.

We've held membership passes to this museum for the last two years, which is the best deal if you live locally, because it is a bit pricey for a day trip ($9 per person for ages 2+). It has a lot of fun play areas and things for kids to do, with options for a range of ages, but probably... More

A friend and I took our 2 year old boys. They had a great time. creative place. They especially liked the life size helicopter. we followed it up with wings and a beer at wingnutz. The perfect father-son outing.
