The main room is beautiful, vaulted ceiling, lots of copper work, and many fine examples of Elwah/S'Klallam artwork. This is often used as a meeting venue, and they also sometimes have demonstrations, such as drumming circles. The staff is welcoming and there is much to be learned. This center is designed to do some job training and education, and seems to be working very well.…

This is a small but wonderful museum about the history of the Elwha culture in Port Angeles, Washington. It is in two parts: first the artifacts from a significant village 2700 years old, and second, a special exhibit about the removal of two hydroelectric dams on the Elwha river and the subsequent restoration of the river. It can easily be seen in 45 minutes. It is free and there is no gift shop - refreshing !…
