- JohnHarris007Naples, Florida51 contributionsVery easy walk to a fine fallsAfter a 1.8 mile hike and over 100 steps up to Marymere falls we found Madison falls on the map which are only a tenth of a mile or less on a paved flat trail that is wheelchair accessible. It was nearly if not just as nice. Lovely and so easy. Oddly it is not mentioned much in the literature or the reviews of Olympic National park but it certainly should be. It is located in the Elwha valley just off US 101 between port Angeles and Marymere falls. In my view this is a must do, but I sure like waterfalls.Visited July 2023Written July 31, 2023

You see the falls as you come around the mountain side and it was surprisingly nice. The entire path is paved, so easy access for wheelchairs and strollers. Pit toilet in the parking lot.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 17, 2023
- kencatronLas Vegas, Nevada1,790 contributionsbeautiful waterfall, short hikeYet another scenic waterfall in the Olympic National Park! This one is a VERY short walk from the parking lot - 5 minutes or so. We were lucky enough to be there with no other visitors but on a crowded day it may be challenging to get any photos - not much room to view the falls - so try to go very early to beat the crowd. It's a very scenic area with a gorgeous river and majestic mountains. Definitely a must see!!!Visited June 2023Written August 22, 2023
- Jen28 contributionsSO Magical I want to keep it secret! It was hard for me to post because this is such a hidden gem, but I wanted others to enjoy it too! It is WAY underrated! Better than Sol Duc and Marrymere combined! There was one family there for a few minutes, and then nobody the rest of the time we were there. You can walk right up to the falls! I can’t quite remember if it’s wheelchair accessible, but it is a really easy walk that toddlers did!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 4, 2023

Our group of 14 from out of state loved this fall and short walk. Not far off the main highway, and across from Elwa River. After you go see the falls you can walk down to the river and explore. Quick outting and leaves time for other activities elsewhere. The falls are beautiful !

It's a 5 minute walk to the falls on a short paved trail, so it's practically roadside. The falls are pretty & it's well worth a stop. There are picnic tables and restroom facilities at the trailhead & a nice view of the Elwha River across from the parking lot.

We made a short hike to Madison Falls while visiting Olympic National Park. The trailhead is at the end of Olympic Hot Springs Road just west of Port Angeles. The road is closed indefinitely past here. A short paved trail leads to the 50-foot waterfall. Even in low water, it was quite pretty and worth a quick stop.

The parking lot is pretty small but it didn’t seem too hard to find a spot. Once you’re parked, the waterfall is only 0.1 mile (roughly 160 paces) away. We found these falls to be about the same as Marymere in size/appearance, but required much less effort to get to. Definitely worth the stop.

This falls like others around the area has been really hit hard by the continuing drought. As od mid July it was still flowing but not near as impressive as my last visit. If I had time to visit only one falls in Olympic NP it would be a Sol Duc.

The trailhead was easy to find and it was short easy hike for our group of 10 - including 2 over 70yo. Worth the short hike to see this great water fall.
