First visit to this locatkon was to see Carpenters Christmas. The building was awesome. Reminds me of Fox Theater in Atlanta. More renovations planned in 2018. Easy parking. Comfortable seats.

Saw the Nutcracker here. The theater is beautiful and acoustics were good. A few stairs to the balcony, so avoid that if stairs are a problem. Parking a bit difficult, but overall a great venue.

The theater is absolutely beautiful! I have seen so many wonderful shows here and I am so excited that the seating is currently being redone because it was very tight. Hopefully there will now be some more leg room.

We have attended numerous events at the Grand Opera House, including the Nutcracker, symphony performances, comedians, and solo and group singing acts. We have sat upstairs, downstairs and the balconies. For solo artists such as comedians or singers the box seats are PERFECT. They are...More

Watch the schedule for really great traveling shows. It is a beautiful theater with a huge stage and great acoustics. Don't miss the 'carry it into the theater drinks" that you can purchase at the right Near the entrance. I think they also have tours...More

Drove down to spend a night in Macon to see a concert here. What a great atmosphere! The only strange thing is the drinking rule but it certainly wasn't a problem...just strange. In all, we loved the place.

The grand is a "Grand Ole Dame of The South." In 1908, a production of Ben Hur was shown. A treadmill was installed in the stage to make the live horses and chariots really move. Houdini used the trap doors; one still is used to...More

Suggest you call the box office (478-301-5470). I know they conduct group tours. They can tell you if there is any possibility for you on that date.

I'm not certain but I believe the answer is no. They may do group tours but not individual ones as it is a working theater and not a tourist attraction per say. Best bet is to call the box office and ask if they open it... More

I personally have never sat in those seats, but I've never heard anyone complain about sightlines, with the exception of the boxes.
