Lovely spacious that almost felt wasteful but I let that go. Heavy accent on the local which I liked. We took about an hour but you could take more. Not sure how much the exhibits rotate but there was variety! Everything from African Art to...More

My husband and I came to Macon especially to visit the Tubman Museum, so our expectations were already pretty high and we weren't disappointed. The Museum houses an eclectic mix of local and culturally relevant artists that all had something valuable to share. We both...More

My sisters and I visited the museum and had a great experience. There’s an amazing collection of art connected to local artists. I enjoyed reading the stories about several of the local people. There’s more to the museum than Harriett Tubman but her section of...More

Beautiful building. Great exhibit on Harriet Tubman. A lot of other art exhibits from local artists. As a retired Sergeant Major I really appreciated the exhibit devoted to the Medal of Honor recipients. Great place to bring family and kids of all ages.

Huge building but not a lot of 'information'. Quite a lot of space devoted to art of dubious quality and very little about the black music of the area.

Macon is a pleasant little town centre to visit, with good places to eat, and if you are going along the antebellum road, it is a good place to overnight. This museum is a gem with plenty of onstreet parking and very helpful staff. It...More

Small museum ina very large facility. Quirky exhibits when we were there, enjoyed the artworks very much - but they rotate exhibits like most museums do, of course, so what you see when you visit might be different from the artists we saw when we...More
