Whether you are walking, heli-hiking or ice-climbing with us in this incredible environment, we can promise you a memory you'll cherish.

We have a long guiding history on the glacier (guided walks first started in 1928). Those years of accumulated knowledge and experience mean weare able to guide you with complete confidence.

You can rest assured we take your safety and comfort very seriously.

Come and enjoy our friendly West Coast hospitality, experience the mighty Fox Glacier with us and create a lifetime memory. We have glacier trips suitable for most fitness levels and ages including children from 9 yrs. Our informative Glacier Terminal Face walk is suitable for children from 5 yrs or for those who would find the walks onto the glacier too strenuous.

My visit to the glaciers was unfortunately not timed so well, weather-wise. Due to unstable conditions because of rain, the helihike I had booked got cancelled. Fortunately the guided terminal walk was the alternative possible. First of all the company's Base and facilities are perfect. All equipment is provided and in great condition. The organisation of the tour also was... More

We just did the heli-ice climbing adventure, and it was incredible. I would absolutely and enthusiastically recommend it. Our guide Sarah was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgable, nice, fun, helpful, and safety-focused. Learning to ice climb was tons of fun, the glacier and surrounding mountains are beautiful, and the whole experience is completely unique. We did this with our 10... More

We did the Heli-hike onto Fox Glacier and this was a moving experience. Right from start to finish I could not wipe the smile off my face. You need to wear thermals and a good outer layer on the glacier, otherwise you will get cold. We are lucky we did as we had a few others on our experience that... More

We did the Fox Glacier Terminal Face walk, as part of our tour package. The building was easy to find, the words 'FOX Glacier guiding' placed prominently on it's roof. We did our walk in the winter, one rainy day in June and they provided us with waterproof jackets and pants, and comfy socks and rainproof boots, with a waterproof... More

Although you could do most if this by yourself, you do get to see the glacier from a different view as well, and our guide Kat was fantastic, so enthusiastic, knowledgable and fun despite being there for over three years (we found in some places some guides were a bit over it, unsurprisingly). She was full of information that really... More

Definitely a must do in New Zealand. With helicopter fly up to 800m high, we had a chance to reach the purest part of the glacier. About 2 hours walking on the ice, we saw so many blue iced caves which were amazing. We were so lucky to have a nice weather that day. The guide Sky was great :)

11 years ago we missed out on the heli hike on the Franz Josef glacier due to weather. We decided to try again this trip and were not disappointed! We had the most perfect day! The tour guides were fun, but serious about safety which was great. The short helicopter ride was amazing in itself, and walking on the glacier... More

The weather forecast was supposed to be bad (rain and clouds) for the day we planned the helihike. Another guide we met day before on another trip before arriving at the glacier told us there is a super high chance it would be cancelled. I was so anxious and called to check. Indeed there was a good chance, but was... More

We had a Extreme Fix ice climb/hike trip cancelled the day before. The company signed us up for a Helihike the next day. The trip was fun and we experienced many caves, narrow crevasses and small sliding caves. We have done glacier walk/hike in Patagonia and Iceland, this trip offered worth every penny.

Thanks for the endorsement of our Flying Fox: Heli Hike. We appreciate the huge distances traveled to get to us so it is important to us to offer alternative suggestions if your trip of choice cannot run for some reason. Glad we had the opportunity to make something work for you. But you know what this means though.............as an intrepid... More
