Average at best...
We had high expectations after local recommendations and reviews here but from our initial phone reservation we felt unwanted and like an inconvenience. As soon as we arrived we had a frosty reception from the staff member who greeted and seated, the 2nd staff member who looked after us however was awesome, passionate, personable and explained the wines with zest, however we left underwhelmed and wished we had skipped this stop on our girls day out and spent out time and money elsewhere.

We visited this winery while biking the Marlborough Wine Trail. It was our favorite "cellar door" of the day for several reasons: the staff was friendly and welcoming, the outdoor seating was lovely and comfortable, and the food and wine were terrific. The options offered at this winery were a great value, in particular, a flight of seven premium wines for $10. We also enjoyed the cheese platter, which included dried fruit and venison terrine in addition to the typical cheese and crackers.

The staff here really care about wine and their visitors. You can go for the easy platter and get some cheese on the side, we chatted with some of the team members there as they were cleaning up at the end of the day. The team we very welcoming and we recommend the Tattybogler. It is nice to see some different wine varieties being made in this region like Petit Manseng, keep up the good work guys!

Thanks so much for taking the time to make these lovely comments. I am really proud of my staff and their knowledge and energy. My crazy scientist husband and winemaker still loves the challenge of new wine varietals and how they perform in Marlborough and other areas of NZ. Hope to see you again. Safe travels.

When we arrived at the vineyard it was very busy, and got one of the last seating areas outside. We opted for the $15 tasting which gave us 7 different wines. However they were so busy we were given a print out with he tasing notes and left to it. Compared to all the other vineyards we visited, 7 in all, this was the least personal. This affected our visit and was such a disappointment as some of their wines were really nice.

We visited Forrest as part of the "Explore Marlborough Wineries by Bike" tour, operated by Explore Marlborough Wine Tours, booked via Celebrity Cruises. We had a fabulous experience here! Our tasting was conducted in the dining room where we were also served an excellent lunch - salmon, lamb, salad, vegetables, roasted potatoes - all perfectly executed! We tasted several wines, many of which were extra tastings. We learned so much from our wine guide, Rose - many comments about her name, and of course the wine! Lots of history here! Beautiful, modern, tasteful. Wonderful experience.

We visited here as a part of the Na Clachan wine tours .
We had the best experience here out of all our vineyard visits . We were well informed by Rosie who was excellent, personable and an asset to the team here . Wines were fabulous so much so we purchased a bottle as did others in our group .
Thank you Rosie for taking the time to tell us so much about your excellent wines . A really friendly place to visit and did not want to leave .

We stopped here as part of the Hop on Hop off bus tour. Great riesling, rose and reds delivered on a tasting paddle for $15. Lovely setting and although we didn’t have a booking they made room for us.

We really enjoyed a glass or 2 of both sauvignon blanc and rose with a lovely platter ($45) with generous full servings of 2 Whitestone cheeses, dried fruits, terrine (or salami), crackers and relish. We were very impressed with the professional friendly service (not over the top) of each staff member we interacted with. Open 7 days which is a bonus with 3 options of platters. We left happy and full with a bottle of rose to take home. Would definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed

Great location and attractive indoor and outdoor venue with comfy seating, bean bags, close proximity to the beer garden and food vans. There was also really great live music to add to the atmosphere. The wine tasting is hands-off with 7 wines provided all at once on a flute and a short paper description of each. Suitable for those that want an impersonal, relaxed approach. We didn't enjoy the wines as much as at other places and didn't learn anything about the vineyard itself but would come here again for a sunny evening drink and burger.
