Excellent country museum. Run by a team of dedicated knowledgeable volunteers . It’s worth visiting just to stare in wonder at the giant Kauri growing there along with native bush . Great variety of exhibits from yesteryear. Well worth a visit

We were staying with friends at nearby Snells Beach and as we had a couple of hours to spend we decided to go to the museum. So glad we did as it was very interesting and saw lots of things that brought back great memories.

Lovingly tended by volunteers, .warkeorth Museum is a fascinating stroll through the area history, including NZ service during World Wars, the settlement of the area, and lots of social history including beautiful women’s handicrafts.

We stopped here on our way to the Bay of Islands but it shouldn't be seen as just a comfort stop but an attraction in it's own right. Perhaps it would have been better if we could have stayed a bit longer but we were...More
