This is one of those spots on Earth that were probably designed by God / Mother Nature "personally" with the clear goal of becoming a masterpiece. What an amazing place...it is surely on my personal Top 10 of the Most Beautiful Beaches Worldwide. No matter what, don't miss it!

Oh my goodness, this must be one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is just breathtaking. We walked along the path and visited the little coves on the way which were really nice, until we reached Cathedral Cove. The walk to the cove can be a bit steep in places, but it is well worth the effort. It... More

Its a 45 minutes walk with an sealed track so most fitness levels can do it but some steep steps at the end so allow plenty of time or take one of the boats and see it that way.

man, people rate this a one star because, get ready....the trail is steep. Uh, folks. This is new zealand....um...it's at the bottom of a CLIFF! OMG. Anyway, I'm not an outdoorsman and I don't care for the ocean. But this was gorgeous. The track, despite what the boneheads say, is completely renovated and paved and very easy. Yes, it is... More

This is a most scenic area, with excellent views of offshore islands and dramatic contrasts of sea, sky, sand, and vegetation. While one would not want to miss the delightful scenery of this cove and the surrounding areas, it is on many people's to-do list, resulting in crowding. I prefer to find such magical areas where there is hardly anyone... More

Had a leisure 45 minutes walk, descending the steps to the cove from the car park, soaking in the breath-taking view along the way. Just remember to wear proper walking shoes; I kept having pebbles going into mine. However, was rewarded with the magnificence of the cove at the end- got some great photos.

After what is a good, long and steep walk to Cathedral Cove from the car park, we descended down lots of steep steps to the Cove and oh so worth the walk. Views out to sea are spectacular, quite other worldly and the arched rock formation quite amazing. Another one of New Zealand's attractions that take the breath away!!

There is a great car park at the top and an easy hike with breathtaking views down to the Cove - the water was aquamarine !
