The air felt different in here, Maybe only 20% of the butterflies were airborne but really magical, just seeing them scatterd about the plants, smashed bananas, benches--watch your feet so you don't step on one. There are displays of butterflies hatching. Outdoros is a garden...More

Just when I thought it was going to just the butterflies, they added some great new features. When you finish the butterfly section, you go out a doorway and into a beautiful garden with plants, two giant bamboo bird watching towers, and a hummingbird patio....More

We visited Mariposas de Mindo, and first walked through an interesting garden to the main building. Then we were given a talk on the life cycle of the butterfly - nothing really new to someone who had silkworms as a child. Going through to the...More

We visited here recently with our entire family. Very simple but well organized and interesting tour to get a first hand view of many different types of butterflies from egg to adult. A good experience for people of all ages.

A must see in Mindo. While the drive to Mindo is very windy, there are many things to see and do. Butterflies galore and guide was very knowledgeable.

This was one of my favorite Mindo activities. I could sit in the butterfly sanctuary all day. It was very peaceful and informative. They do a good job of exhibiting the lifecycle of the butterfly and leave you on your own to enjoy the sanctuary...More

Very nice butterfly garden. Been to the one in Key West and this one is a bit nicer. The life cycle was very interesting as well as watching the butterflies coming out of their cocoons. A very nice variety of butterflies.

If you have the time I highly recommend checking out the butterfly garden. I was very educational as the staff not only explained with process of the butterfly larvae to that of the actual butterfly but was able to show us. It was wonderful to...More

We enjoyed a peaceful afternoon here learning about butterflies. When we entered we received a quick description of the life cycle of a butterfly. It is fascinating to see all of the different varieties in such a small place. However, even more fascinating than the...More
