A real treat in Mindo
Sep 2021
This is just a magical spot. I had never seen so many butterflies of different sizes and colors in one place before. Get there first thing in the morning to see the butterflies emerge from their cocoons - it is a really remarkable thing to watch!

A Mindo must do!

I know, butterflies? Who cares right? Especially with all the fun adventure things to do nearby. But this place is definitely worth a stop. Even though I have been to butterfly exhibits before, non has the kind of butterflies seen here. Plus, you can go and using smushed bananas, attract the butterflies to come and land on you. It was a fun experience.

Fun and Unique experience

We were planning to skip the butterfly garden in Mindo as we had visited ones in Washington DC and Malaysia before and didn't feel super impressed. Luckily, we didn't miss this great experience. There were lots of butterflies and we could play with them. Very fun.

A must see for nature lovers

Wonderful opportunity to learn about the complex lifecycle of butterflies and experience these creatures “up close and personal” as they fly around by the hundreds (thousands?) and often land on you. Staff is pleasant and offers good explanations about butterfly needs and behaviors. We left with a strange feeling of rapture after being surrounded by an extraordinary number of ravishingly beautiful species.

This is a terrific place to bring children, who seem equally entranced by the gorgeous koi in an attractive pond. Only downside is mediocre display cases, offering few explanations of what they seek to show.

Amazing place, if you're interested in butterflies. Watch them emerge from cocoons, if you have a little time. .

Awesome Butterflies

I came here with my family and had a super fun time observing the hundreds of butterflies! It was also really cool to see the butterflies-to-be in their cocoons. After looking at butterflies, there’s another area in which we walked around a little trail and watched hummingbirds drink nectar!

Really nice place to visit
Mar 2021 • Friends
Yes it’s $7.50 to enter - if that is too much - don’t go ... they are maintaining a sweet area full of butterflies and I found it enchanting
My big problem was the hummingbird feeders were Empty and this no birds but even worse was they were super dirty and that is harmful to the birds I did mention it to the gal
Either keep them full and clean or get rid of the hummingbird area

Great place to kill a little time, the butterflies are especially active when it's warm and sunny. Really cool to see the pupas and new butterflies emerging!

So fun

Could have spent hours and hours. Butterflies everywhere....my tatted up boyfriend looked like Snow White. A little pricey for the area to be honest, but no regrets and if I was with someone who had never been, I would pay again to be sure they did not miss the experience. If TripAdvisor let me access my Google Albums you would see I have literally hundreds of pictures just from that day.

Small, nice, diverse
Mar 2020 • Family
We visited the butterfly garden and enjoyed it a lot. Is small but has inside a variety of butterflies and colibríes. We enjoyed the diversity of flowers and plants, unique from the sub-tropical region.
