We focus on making wine in small lots with primarily Massachusetts-grown grapes, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Vidal Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Travessia wines are an authentic reflection of our local soils and micro-climate. We love to experiment and push the boundaries but our wines are also made with simplicity.

very small storefront with 4 wines available. They're not that great either. They listed the wrong address in last years passport which made it hard getting there last year. This year a CT. winery gave us the wrong passport and we got lost again!

We just stopped in briefly to try a couple of wines. The service was friendly and wines were good quality. The tasting room is quite small.

We very nearly didn't find this place because the address we were given from the Rhode Island wine trail website was wrong. It must have been serendipity because just as we were about to give up, we walked straight past the place! It was meant to be...we were meant to meet Marco; the half Portuguese wine maker who was knowledgeable,... More

We went to New Bedford to visit this winery. The flag said OPEN so we parked the car. When we arrived at the door, it was locked. There were people inside for a tasting and someone serving. Those inside saw us but we were ignored. Someone could have come to the door to explain why we were not able to... More

Highly recommend the pino noir rose for the red favorite. I enjoyed almost all the whites. My favorite were the riesling and vidal blanc. Not surprising the Vidal Glassman grapes are from Running Brook N Dartmouth which has great vidal blanc a short 15 minutes drive away.

Stopped into Travessia with my husband, my cousin and her husband last weekend. We entered the tasting area and was half-heatedly greeted by the employee. The tasting area was quite full and there seemed to be only one person working the entire floor. We sampled the 5 wines on hand, felt rushed and never really got too much information from... More

We stopped at winery, located in New Bedford, on one of the cobblestone streets near the water. It's a beautiful little city with a plethora of highly recommended restaurants. We were warmly welcomed into the winery. They do not grow any of their own grapes. They import them from local wineries and from California. For an extra fee you could... More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find this in the heart of New Bedford. Grapes are grown locally but all wine making and bottling is done on site. All wines that we sampled we excellent (Chardonnay, Riesling, Rose, Jester Red, J Port). Tasting room was lovely with a classy atmosphere. Average price of bottles were $18... More

We love Travessia! It's a can't miss if you are nearby. Highly recommended! Try the Vidal Blanc. Best in the region. Marco and Jen are fantastic.
