We visited the Military Museum, which was very comprehensive, then walked down to the Fort. We were told there wasn't a tour available today but we should be able to gain access to the Fort's courtyard. To our disappointment, the Fort was locked shut. Near by is a Vietnam War Memorial which is very well maintained and worth the visit.... More

People annually pass this Picturesque Gem en route to Cape Cod! Located in New Bedfords South end, this location is one of the most beautiful views the eyes can see! It's tipping point is the middle of this mini peninsula with breathtaking water views 3/4ths of the way around! To enter, you'll pass a beautiful and popular beach... To exit,... More

There is a lot of history there. There is also a museum you can visit that is filled with so much history. It's also a nice walk around the fort. A great ocean view.

I never came here when I grew up in New Bedford. Now that I live in Florida; I have more of an appreciation for this wonderful place. Not only is it full of history, but it is a lovely place to walk and play with my rabbits. And it is also rumored to have paranormal activity.....hence the "mystery" in my... More

The pros: The park was free to enter, parking is plentiful, and the views are great. The pier is lovely to walk out on. The cons: not really clean, no bathrooms were open, only portable toilets available. The fort itself is not open to explore and appears to be a target of vandals.

The grounds are nice to walk around. There is a pier that has nice benches to sit and look out over the water and the lighthouse. There were some families swimming and in the playground and it was nice to see the people enjoying the summer afternoon. The reason I didn't rate it higher is because we took a walk... More

This is a great park. Nice views, nice walking paths, and a lot of places for the kids to play. But the restrooms closed around 5pm on Sunday over Memorial Day weekend and there was one (1) single porta-pottie for hundred of people. This is simply unacceptable. Keep the restrooms open until the park closes. To do otherwise is a... More

Beautifully landscaped, well-maintained park around historic fort. Fort is not open but it's still a beautiful place to walk, bike or swim. Not too busy when we visited (Sunday) so it was very relaxing!

This park has amazing views from every angle. The fort is really awesome to take a walk around. The park has a couple different paved walking paths that circle around the fort and out to the point. Awesome boardwalk too that leads out into the water. Really awesome park. It's free to go to, too.
