This old stone church and cemetery was a must see, once we saw the flowered cross. We walked the grounds looking at the architecture of the church and viewed the adjacent cemetery. Quite picturesque with the ocean as a backdrop.

This spot is not to be missed. The chapel and the grounds including small cemetery speak of the missionary days in Hawaii. We were fortunate to be there when a local pianist came in to practice on the grand piano for an upcoming community event....More

This church is well over a century old, and was started by Hawaiians living in the Makena Landing area. It's on the water, with an old rock wall separating the grounds from the beach. The minister is a kind, caring man who always manages to...More

A beautiful ocean side setting. Nice traditional service in both English and Hawaiian. Good piano and organ music but kinda loud acoustics. Church yard is a cemetery where most are grave markers where deceased were cremated and ashes spread at sea, a local tradition. Good...More

Yes, they have a candlelight service that starts around 6 pm. It's always crowded, so get there early. The setting is beautiful, so it's worth your time to walk around the grounds and visit inside the church.
