Great beach with good facilities and parking nearby. Unfortunately the adjacent resort hotel has closed and the area is in transformation. It will interesting to see how the area develops with condominiums and single family housing.

This beach used to be the best kept secret on the south side but the word is out. Still a great place to swim in clear water on sand. Everyone should experience this beach at least once.

Wide beach with soft sand and amazing sunsets. There was a lot of parking and tons of families. The waves were really rough while we were there but still a wonderful beach to relax on awhile.

Spent a few hours here and really enjoyed this beach. Have been here in the past, found it improved over time with god parking in two lots with toilets. There are also two lifeguard facilities here with rescue equipment which is a nice service. The...More

Nice kept beach, very wide, long. Seemed a lot of tourists, families, yeah. South of Molokini, to the channel south, parking safe to my liking, nice crowd. No shade, slim facility. good.

Families need to be aware that a portion of this beach has nude sunbathers.swimmers. The main beach is beautiful. Climb the small hill to the volcanic rock peak to watch an unforgettable sunset.

Makena beach is absolutely gorgeous, not at all crowded with crystal clear water and marvelous view of other Hawaiian islands. Watching the sun set at the beach is just stunning. We walked from the Big beach through the Little beach to the Oneuli beach, which...More

My family dpent the day at Big Beach at Makena State Park. Snorkeling out to tge reef was the highlight!!! Shallow enough to free dive, lots of coral, ricks and fish. I must have seen a dozen green sea turtles. It was wonderful.

One of the best beaches in Maui! Totally recommend it. Amazing ocean, clean beach, and not crowded, close to Wailea.

Great beach. All nice sand, no coral rocks in the water. Kids loved it. Good waves, turtles, not packed. Parking is close and plentiful

Sorry for my late response, but I didn't see this until now. Makena Beach is a nice spot but there are several spots more appropriate for a wedding. My favorite would be Secret Beach, which is just a bit south of Makena... More
