What a disappointment! Recycled dancers — some of the same people who did the Marriott luau in Feb 2022; we have the pics to prove it. Food was of the same quality as an in-flight Delta meal in first class. The servers are slow and didn’t seem to have any idea what was going on. We got stuck in the back at a table of 8 by ourselves and could see nothing over the kids running around the whole time while the parents were wasted from the free bar. Backyard string of lights are super cheesy — Grand Wailea luau has spectacular lighting up the palms btw. It’s NOT a way to spend any time in Maui. My wife cried walking home after the show it was so bad — felt we wasted ~$600 total. Never going to a Luau again!

Maui is just unbelievably beautiful however I would not have spent such a large amount of money knowing what I know now. While our waitress was wonderful and the food was tasty enough. I don't know that I would say a "feast". The actual show was very nice but the other guest at our hotel could watch the same show standing just behind us with a cocktail the same as we did without paying a thing. And, although there was an open bar for the luau that did not garner the price tag as I wouldn't drink enough to justify the price. So, was it a good historical lesson on Hawaii, absolutely, the guest not paying were part of the whole evening without investing in the price tag. In hindsight I would grab a cocktail and a nice sunset seat at the pool and just watch the show.

The luau was good for a first timer. Being from Texas the food was interesting. My favorite was the bread and drinks. The entertainment was great. The fire performance at the end was the most memorable. The singers and dancers were all great too. Longer than expected. About 2.5 hours.

Show: 10/10
Service: 10/10
Food: 2/10
Show and service were incredible. Food was good, but not great. Both myself and my fiancée had awful stomach problems the rest of the night and the next day. Not sure which part of the meal did us dirty but something about the meal was spoiled or something.

We did not stay at this hotel but attended the luau only. I wanted to write a review as I did not see many when I was researching.
We really enjoyed this luau - it is a smaller affair (probably about 10 tables of 10 people) and that really contributed to the ambiance. We felt very welcomed from the welcome mai tais as we waited to check in, the hostess of the evening stopping at every table to talk with the guests and remembering our names!, and the table service. We enjoyed visiting the three tables of activities (print making, lei bracelet making and temporary tattoos) prior to dinner and the free sunset photograph they take of you which made a wonderful keepsake. My family included two 80 year old seniors so I had searched for a luau where they did not have to stand in a buffet line and this was perfect.
The first course was outstanding - we only wish we could have seconds! As we were sharing a table with another family, we wanted to make sure everyone had their fair share and unfortunately some of the standouts like the ahi poke and squid lu'au, did not have enough for seconds. The second course needed some work - the prime rib was delicious but the fish was dry. I realize it's challenging to cook for so many people so maybe some sauce for the fish on the side would help with that. The show was amazing (my comparison point was our other experience at the PCC which was good but not amazing) I loved the hostess - she was warm, friendly and just an amazing story teller. All the servers we interacted with at the open bar and serving our table were gracious and friendly. The traditional dancing was beautiful and the Samoan fire dancing thrilling! The performers made themselves available for pictures afterwards and as it was such an intimate affair, it was easy to grab a quick picture with them before heading out.
In summary, the price point is one of the highest but I think this translated in the quality of the food, show, service and overall ambiance. I would go back to this luau in the future, especially if they keep it to such an intimate size, but not the PCC one.

Although the scenery and entertainment was amazing, our family was sadly disappointed and did not feel we got what we paid for. Maui has the best food and unfortunately at this luau, the food was not very good and NOT even close to a feast! Each dish was served family style and to be shared with more people than in your own family. I have two large teenage sons who left the “feast” feeling hungry and NO one was comfortable sharing food with strangers at the table. We love Maui, but we would not recommend this activity if you’re expecting a large meal for your family with great food.

The Andaz is a beautiful facility and the luau takes place on a manicured lawn off the beach. It is a much more intimate luau than others - family style food service at your table in lieu of a buffet, smaller seat availability (maybe 25 tables of 8 chairs). You don't even need to pay for premium seating because every table has a great view of the stage. Before the luau starts, they have fun cultural activities, complimentary family photographs and drinks. It's refreshing to enjoy the atmosphere without having to worry about getting your seat. We enjoyed talking to the dancers and singers. The music and story was phenomenal. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our kids (6 years old) played with other kids, danced on the luau stage and loved watching (and mimicking) all the dances.

We walked over from the Wailea Marriott for this Luau and it was great! We paid for classic seating which worked out perfectly for our family since we arrived early and were seated one row behind the preferred seating. The open bar was nice, with top shelf beer and drinks. The pre-show activities were fun, making a wrist corsage and temporary tattoos. The food was good, served family style. Our family of 5 sat with another family of 3 who we didn't know, but it was fun talking with them thru dinner. And the show was very entertaining. The backdrop of the sky and ocean was just beautiful.
I would definitely recommend this Luau while in Maui. Worth the money!

This one is a must!!! Worth the price tag!! No a fan of Luaus style events due to the amount of people and mediocre food buffets. But I was looking forward to take my mother to her 1st Luau and this one hit the mark of excellence. WOW! let me tell you this LUAU was amazingly organized from the 1st moment you showed up. From welcome cocktails, seat arrangements, open bar, available activities prior to show and friendly staff. The quality of the food in the menu was outstanding, delicious and plentiful to go around the table. Also, the severs were always making sure we had enough food to go around. Special thanks to the staff for pre setting my mother Vegan Meal Main course and for always describing the food contents. She was so happy to be able to join the feast. The show story, dancers and band were awesome too. Definitely a must do!

We had so much fun at the Feast at Mokapu! The food was amazing and our servers were so sweet and quick. Our table was right at the front so we could see everything very well. The dancers were great, the musicians were great, and the hostess was amazing! She’s so talented! We had been to a different luau on Kauai and wanted an experience that wouldn’t be exactly the same and this Luau was perfect for us! Family style, laid back, but no group participation! My only recommendation is to get there early as the picture line will take too long. We waited so long for the pictures I was unable to visit the lei-making area or the tattoo area. Overall, highly recommend! It was a very enjoyable night!

Is there any benefit of getting the premium seating ($250) vs the classic seating for $200?
Written February 16, 2020
Classic seating is enough. It's quite an intimate setting, the stage is raised and wherever you're seated, you'll have a good view. We paid for classic and we're seated right at the front.

Is there anywhere I can buy the haupia tartlettes that were served at luau?
Written February 11, 2019
Is the luau wheelchair accessible?
Written October 3, 2019
We're going to be staying at the Andaz next month and saw they offered a luxury luau. The price is high at $200 pp and the website description on ohana style meal is very vague, what kind of food is served and what kind of cocktails or other drinks are available for that price?
Written September 13, 2018
The food wasn’t good. I saw guest of the Andaz watching from the pool area or from their own cabana. I would suggest doing dinner at a restaurant and reserving a Cabana to watch the show.
