We went here in the late evening after supper, drawn in by the fabulous music. It is a quaint little place with wicked (and reasonably priced) mojitos. Both locals and touristas gather here - and it was an absolute highlight to see some of the old timers dancing to the rumba. There is a bit of the Cuban soul here. Loved it!

The UNEAC (Cuban Union of Artists) holds short concerts in its garden at might. Local musicians, friendly local and tourist crowd, beer and cocktails and dance-floor create a lively and wonderful atmosphere. A must!

We came early to make sure we had good seats. The band played great Cuban music. The local elderly people sat in the front benches and danced. There were a few elderly Cuban men who invited some of the female tourists to dance. They had a bar where you could get drinks. It was a very enjoyable evening

My daughter and I went for the 10 a.m. show on Sunday, December 3. We had the pleasure of hearing a trio of musicians/singers playing boleros and such. The room was full and I was seated with an 88 year old Cuban lady, Mercedes, who was having fun like a young girl and took the opportunity to go dancing with a couple of friends. The atmosphere is extraordinary, the people are nice and there are very few tourists! There were speeches in tribute to Dr. Carlos Finlay, whose birthday it was (December 3, 1833), and whose work helped eradicate yellow fever through the initiation of mosquito control programs throughout the country. Cuba and the Panama Canal Zone. One of the musicians is a doctor.
