I don't think this is a must see highlight of Cuba, but if you are in the vicinity then it is well worth having a look at this home turned hotel. It is located right by the sea so you get some stunning views from the rooftop. The interior is also worth a few photos with its unusual Moorish style. I wouldn't maybe spend too long here, but glad I went.

This former sugar baron "castle" offers with it's mongrel architecture a interesting insight into an Amircanised rich pre-revolution rich persons taste. Probably somewhere in Hollywood you can find similar. Moorirish, medieval and gothic styles very nice view from top terrace includinh among other things the cupola of the only never finished atomic power plant in Cuba. Go see. The state run restaurant offers slow service and bony fish filet.

Beautiful building, seems to be a Government restaurant where no one goes, but all the tables are beautifully laid out.
We went upstairs to the bar for an evening drink and were somewhat disappointed - just a load of randon tables and chairs set out around a large rooftop with a band playing for 1st 5 minutes before packing up at around 7pm. Worth going up for the views, but could be so much better in private sector I suspect.

Lovely architecture, loved the rooftop view. Had cocktails on roof, then dinner. Food was typical Cuban but better in that it was nicely presented with a tasty sauce. Staff were very efficient. Good food and lovely surroundings.

The Lonely Planet guide adviced not to go in this place for a meal.. a cocktail could be sufficient to live the atmosphere of the beautiful palace (always according to the guide)... instead, we decided to go for dinner......... the building is magic.. and this was the only positive element of our meal... the tables set up was awfull, the prices too high, the dishes terrible (I just tasted my paella and yuck!), the waiters were impersonal and cold.. please don’t go there to eat!!!

It was super hot the day I visited the palacio - and I just spent the afternoon on the rooftop which has a bar and a lovely seating area with good views of the bay. The palace itself is not large and given that it is now a restaurant, apart from admiring the architecture of the palace, and the good views on the rooftop, there isn't much to see.

This former private residence is now an elegant restaurant. Even if you don't dine there, be sure to see the building and grounds. The architectural styles and craftsmanship are magnificent.

Fabulous moorish palace that is completely out of place! No idea about the food but the building is fascinating. There is a small entrance fee, but it entitles you to a free drink. Definitely worth a detour

A magnificent building with a fantastic roof top bar.
The only downside if you have mobility issues is the spiral staircase for the final ascent.
Beautiful at sunset.
You do of course get the customary live music while you drink your cocktails.

We took a walk from the center of the city to Valle Palace via Malecon of Cienfuegos. It took around half an hour to walk, but was worth of visit.
Palace is free of charge to enter. In the ground floor situated restaurant. Nice interior, but I liked exterior much more. Architecture of the Palace is beautiful.
At the way back we took "ferari cubano" (bike with driver). Be careful, check price twice before you getting in, because we agreed to drive for 10cuc, but after arrival we found out that it is per person! (we were in hurry and havn't time to discuss this case)
