What a lovely setting! We were here on Saturday morning, on a very hot August day. There was a musician singing songs, adding to the ambiance. We checked out the vendors, bought some delicious apples, and checked out a few of the shops, such as Elizabeth’s art gallery, and the antique store, which was reasonably priced. The public washrooms could have been improved on, but otherwise it was an enjoyable visit.

Nice area, nice down town. There are vendors here on the weekend but are majorly overpriced. Like buy a bag of apples and a bundle of carrots and its $21 !!?? Don't get it. Vendors gouge the heck out of the tourists that is for sure. Nonetheless it is a beautiful area.

It was a easy walk around the square. A lot of restaurants and shops. Hotel Bedford and the theatre, art gallery are recommended to check them out.

As town squares go (it's actually an octagon) this one is pretty nice. My wife and I visited fairly recently in the middle of a Saturday morning when the square hosts the farmer's market. Dozens of stalls were lining the inner side of the one-way street that surrounds the octagon in the middle of which sits the Huron County courthouse. There was also live entertainment in the form of a karaoke-style singer (he was actually quite good).

For new visitors to Goderich it wouldn't be obvious by what you can see now that a tornado had whipped through it in 2011. That's a huge tribute to the restoration work that has taken place since. Within the square itself the only tell-tales are a few carved tree stumps, all that remains of some of the old stately trees that were ripped apart by the maelstrom. One carving is of an old man (a fisherman?), another is apparently a tribute to the Nursing Sisters and my favourite is a piper (the town hosts a Celtic roots festival every year).

In order to appreciate the " Courthouse Square" You need to park the car and get out and walk around it. Any day of the week is goo but on a Saturday with the Farmers Market or Sunday with its Flea Market ( In the spring, summer and fall) is a good time. Since the tornedo that struck this town a few years ago, nearly everything is back in order. They rebuilt the town in th old style and the trees around the court house although not a tall as a few years ago, they look wonderful.

Great architecture, Vitorian, with many good eating establishments and boutique shoppers. It's wonderful to walk around the square taking in the wonderful sights

The landscaping in the square is beautiful such a nice green space with beautiful hanging baskets and gardens. The courthouse building is one of our favourite buildings in Ontario.

The square was devastated during the storm a few years back. They have done a great job of refurbishing this area in the heart of the wheel!!

Many of the buildings in downtown Goodrich are a big older but they have the old time look to them. You can tell this little town has what it takes as you walk around the wheel. They have done a great job fixing it up. As far as the court house is concerned, I was a good little boy while there so I never had to venture inside for a meeting with the public officials.
