Easy walk to get around. Spectacular views of Placentia. Didn't get into the info centre as it wasn't open yet, but the ruins of the old fort were worth the stop. Spend about 30 minutes thwere.

Can't remember what the entrance fee was but not sure it was worth it. A nice view of the village and some interesting sites but very small - 10 minutes and you've seen everything there is to see.

Majestic ruins overlooking the ocean. Well worth the short, steep walk up the hill. Incredible vistas of the whole area. Well-appointed gift shop, too.

Very interesting historic site with an excellent view of the harbor in Placentia. The weather did not cooperate with us too much or we would have stayed longer. There is a walking trail which we would have liked to explore.

A really interesting site. Really well explained. An absolute bargain! Staff are so helpful and welcoming. The audio tour is great! Even got costumes for the kids (and big kids) to get dressed in. Brilliant- well worth stopping

Remains of both French and British fortifications overlooking Placentia, the former French Capital of Newfoundland. Very interesting piece of the history puzzle! The audio tour is very helpful and easy to follow. The walk is partly uphill but still easy enough and the walk around...More

Walked up early in morning before Visitor's Centre opened. Actually drove up and walked to site. Tried to hike from town day before but stopped because of rain.

If you are staying in town, you can follow the original trail up the face of the hill. Cross the bridge, and keep to your left. Follow the boardwalk to the end, then follow the gravel path. At the first fork, turn left, and you...More
