Amphorae Winery is located in a beautiful setting and is easily reachable from Highway 4. The atmosphere is quite magical and our idea was to enjoy the beautiful day on the outdoor terrace of this location.

Since for health reasons we currently cannot consume wine, we asked to just buy a coffee at the bar and sit at a table on the outdoor terrace for a while. To our great surprise, the young man behind the bar told us that we were not allowed to sit at the tables with "just" a coffee, since this was a winery.

We accepted this claim, and then walked outside onto the terrace in order to just take a look at this beautiful venue. To our surprise, we saw that 90% of the many tables that were located on the terrace were not occupied, at all.

We then asked the young man behind the bar once again why we could not just sit at one of the empty tables and have a coffee, being that the vast majority of the tables were empty. Again he explained that this is a winery, and that you have to consume wine if you want to sit there.

To us, the whole episode seemed rather strange. Being professional tour guides who came to this region of the country in order to explore new venues for our customers, we came away with a feeling of not being wanted as customers at Amphorae Winery - which of course is a nice feeling.

The young man behind the counter had not been rude in any way, and the setting of the winery is truly beautiful. Nevertheless, we left this location confused and disappointed.

Instead of now being able to recommend this venue, we can only say that you better be ready to drink some wine - and only wine - if you want to be able to sit at one of Amphorae Winery's tables.

We have visited many times so we really didn't need a tour, but we needed fine wine and heard that there was a new master winemaker. We passed on the picnic basket or winetasting special offer of 140 shekels per person. We just wanted to buy wine and did some free tasting. Finally we bought 4 bottles and got one free. So that the rose and white wines averaged around 77 shekels each which is fair for delicious wine.

The Staff was friendly and kind but the wine was average at best and we were there on a day that the credit card machines did not work and had to scrounge to put funds together to pay for this experience. We were not told of the issue in advance and we would have made arrangement to have more cash had we known. The wine just left me not wanting more.

And the winery is located in a beautiful place and the wine is very nice, but beyond that the experience of drinking in the winery is on the face. A poor and poor cheese platter at a ridiculous price in relation to the value (90 NIS per person). We left very disappointed with the value for the price and to know that we drove about an hour for this experience at all disappointed us. It made me and my family realize that maybe experiencing wineries is not a worthwhile experience and maybe it's better to be in a cafe and just order good wine....

We had a really amazing experience at the winery's restaurant. First of all, the place is beautiful, with a green pastoral view all around. But the best part is that the wine tastings were excellent, and even though I didn't pay for tastings, only my wife drank, they always offered me a drink too and poured me fine wines at no extra charge. The waiters knew how to explain in a really good way about each wine, were welcoming and were extremely friendly.
My wife and I left there with an amazing feeling!
In addition, the price we paid for the wine was unusually cheap compared to the quality of the wine and the amount of wine that was poured for us each time, and also the cheese platter, which cost NIS 90, was served to us as a "Refill", meaning bottomless cheeses and spreads.

We arrived as a family of 9, we didn't have to wait long and they brought us a wine tasting which was good,
low quality food,
There is no choice of food and also what we got was not good. We received a cheese platter that looks cheap for cheap cheeses and completely normal fruit that costs NIS 90 per person!
They said there would be a refill after we finished and in the refill we received some old cheeses and fruit on a disposable plate!
It was unclean and full of flies
In conclusion, an experience of a totally bad winery at a ridiculously high price that is not worth a shekel

We arrived while the hostess was letting the waiting people in with a tasting of a glass of wine which was nice, we didn't wait too long either. So far so good. The hostess escorted us to a table that had not yet been cleaned, in the sun, with almost no shade. We sat and waited for them to approach us (which did not happen). We asked the hostess to change to a more shady place. She said it is what it is. There was no willingness to seat us in a proper place, full of sun but not clean either. There was no one to talk to. A feeling not of a winery, but of an event garden whose employees do not take over the very crowded event. Service beyond all criticism. Very disappointing. We got up and left, none of the staff seemed to care or notice that we couldn't even sit down comfortably. Maybe in a period with nicer weather he would have felt differently, and also if the staff was more organized

I am glad that my relatives took me here. The winery building is located in an extremely beautiful, quiet hillside location -- a little oasis of calm. There is space inside, but the outdoor patio is the real highlight. It's perfect in every way and is just as good for a group celebration as it is for a date or visit with children. We had a flight of 4 wines (white, rose, red, red) and while the white and rose were crisp and refreshing on a warm day, the two red wines were not as inspiring.

We decided to go on a trip in the middle of the week, Gidi the winemaker and Esti (his wife)
Wednesday peace, a pastoral place, a rich palette and a lot of good wine. Boaz took care of our request to meet with Miram the winemaker (we requested it in advance and we were happy that it was possible).
We did not expect that Harel would answer everything, that he would listen and learn from Gidi and not forget for a moment the service and also treat us with something sweet. Everyone is welcoming.
Harel and Yael gave an excellent service with all our hearts we congratulate you!!

We ordered a table for 8 adults and 6 children.
We got a call from the winery that they can’t serve us because “half” of the table are child and don’t drink. Of course we didn’t go (as they encouraged us). And I also called again to to make sure they won’t charge us, the answer was no.
I got charged with 500 shekels.
From then I called twice to the place and the answer was the manager will back to you …
I am still waiting for the call
