Monmouth Inn was built in 1818 and set the standard for other antebellum "townhouses" that followed. We stayed in the Quitman Room, actually in his specially made king size bed. Unfortunately, the mattress creaked and the lighting was poor. The bathroom was large. The Quitman Lounge served a delicious risotto and the service by Roosevelt was first rate. He also... More

If you are not clad appropriately, you will be asked to leave. This is not a place to go if you want southern hospitality.

This is an amazing place although it was a strange and slightly uncomfortable experience being the only guests, particularly when dining. Staff were extremely friendly and did everything to make our short stay as pleasurable as possible, even setting up a private dining table for us which was very romantic. It was just a shame that the food didn't live... More

First of all, the cost of the tour is more expensive than other more worthy tours we have taken in Natchez. What disappointed us the most however, was the bored, monotone way in which our guide presented the tour. She made it quite clear, right away, that no questions were allowed until the end of the tour, even though our... More

Need to have an open mind here as its interest is in its past days and who lived here during the Civil War; may be a b&b now and some question its quality but I loved staying in the General's rooms and imagined life in the past.

I liked my visit to the Monmouth historic inn, even as the price (15$) is probably too high. But it is a nice place to see. The tour was good

Don't go there. Shabby expensive place with awful quality restaurant. Our Thanksgiving experience was terrible. Dinner served cold, room full of humidity and needing maintenance. Just a big bluff. Won't comeback. This is not a luxurious hotel. More like a theatrical 2 stars hotel with second class service. Very bad experience.

This beautiful setting is a great place for special dinners and holiday brunches. The grounds are very pretty, walkways and trails are throughout, when it's in bloom it's one of the prettiest places in Natchez. Great bar too.

The garden and grounds were very pretty but the house is basically a b&b and as we paid for a deluxe room we were disappointed to find it rather shabby. The bathroom was fine but the bedroom needs a new carpet and the bedding was rather musty! We took the tour of the house but I think other homes would... More

The food was really good. The Waitress was very good. The problem was the piano player was too loud while we were eating. It really ruined the evening & we couldn't wait to get out of there. My Husband was very annoyed.
