If you enjoy beautiful music, antiques and history this is the perfect experience. JB is a fountain of knowledge regarding Natchez family history, musical history and background of many antiques. He plays the piano beautifully and Precious, his handsome dog, provides additional entertainment. The music is presented chronologically with explanations about the piece so it’s very educational as well as entertaining.

With our minimal musical background we weren't sure we would appreciate the concert, but Joe explained each piece before he played and we came away with a greater appreciation and understanding of classical music. We would recommend it to others!

I'm not big on classical piano concerts, but I truly enjoyed this concert. The intimate setting was a factor. Also, Joe is an excellent pianist. He explained his selections before playing and that helped appreciate the music more.

My wife told me we were going to a concert and I thought to myself, "Oh boy, I can't wait." Well, it turned out to be a real hoot. Joe lives in a house that has been in his family since the 1870s. The evening starts out with a glass of wine then a piano concert by Joe. He introduces each piece with a short discussion which I found very interesting. That lasts about an hour. Then he takes the guests on tour of the house which includes a lot of history and a lot of really neat items. Turns out he is also an antique map collector. We got off into a side discussion about maps and spent quite a while on that topic. I would guess we spent over two hours touring and discussing. It was hard to leave, but I figure that he was happy to see us out the door since his B&B and concert business is a one man show. Busy boy!
If you are ever in Natchez you would be nuts to miss out on this experience. I would actually like to do it again.

I joined a very well attended performance for out of town guests for a piano concert in the beautiful and historic Stone House. The performance was excellent and consisted of varied musical styles and progressed through periods of late classical style to more modern precursors of jazz. There was informative narration between the pieces. Following the performance was a guided tour of this unique antebellum home that has been in Mr. Stone’s family for 4 generations. It is filled with amazing collections that were his family’s pieces in addition to his own collections. Libations were generously served.

This B&B is by far the most memorable. The concert was executed with such passion and feeling. I was lucky enough to be on a business trip and enjoy Joe's concert all to myself. The acoustics in the room are amazing. I recommend anyone with the appreciation of music to attend even if you are not staying in the area or passing thru.

Joe offers a very entertaining evening of piano music, wine and delightful stories about his historic home which has been in the family for 150 years. Additionally, he has a wonderful collection of antiques as well as an outstanding collection of old maps, which he shares during the tour of his house. You leave with a great appreciation of not only the music but the city Natchez was and is today.

If you are in Natchez and want a unique experience, Joe Stone, a classically trained musician frequently puts on piano concerts, focusing on classical pieces. He is extremely knowledgeable, explains the time of the composition, the composer, the style and the importance of the piece. His concerts last over an hour and and are enchanting.

Joe's concert was quite a surreal experience. We stayed in Natchez on our US road trip and we wanted to hear a variety of live music. Our horizons were certainly widened at the Stone House concert when Joe created a chronological programme, including composers completely new to us. All this and a glass of wine too. What a delightful event. Thank you Joe.

Yes, the tentative plan is for Sat. July 9 at 5pm, but it has to be confirmed after my b&b guests arrive today. They will probably all be here by 5 pm, so the best thing to do is check with me later today or tomorrow morning. Thanks for your interest, Joe Stone 601 897 0315

I will be in Natchez Nov 28th. Will you be doing a concert that day?
Written October 15, 2015
As of now I have no group music tour planned that day, nor is my b&b booked, so currently no music program is planned for that day. If you stay at my b&b and request the music and are available at a reasonable time such as 5:30 or 6:00 pm, the concert will be offered as an included feature of staying at the b&b. Otherwise, you can contact me that day or the day before to find out if it is likely that there will be a concert 11/28.
Thanks for your interest,
Joe Stone

Yes, concerts are often in the afternoon for shore tours from riverboats. These usually occur at 2:45 or 3:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, so the schedule varies. If you would like to attend one just contact me to find out when there is a performance.
