Debra created a wonderful experience for our Group. The Hike was just the right length and level of difficulty. We learned a lot about the area while enjoyed time together in the fresh air, surrounded by beautiful Redwoods.

Our guide Debra went above and beyond in every capacity to provide us with a unforgettable experience at Muir Woods. Interaction before we arrived was top notch. Payment info, meeting points, etc were all clearly communicated; and Debra inquired about our main interests so she could prepare thoughtful and interesting commentary for our hike. On our hike day, meet-up was just as expected. On the hike itself, we started our tour at the "top" and worked our way down to the main entrance in no particular hurry so we could look, listen, smell, and experience our surroundings. Perfect! We were treated to breathtaking scenery and a wealth of information on history, biology, geology, local lore and more. My screwball request for a spooky story was even granted... it was a doozy! Debra also knew just when to let the quiet beauty of our surroundings speak the loudest. For all these reasons (and more) we'll always cherish the lessons Debra taught us on our day hike at Muir Woods. Thank you! Linda & Lorraine

Never again will I think that hiking is not a team-building activity. Debra was excellent to work with and worth every dollar. By the end of the trip, our group of 40 co-workers knew everyone's name and felt closer than ever. Oh, be sure to buy the homemade power bars!

Our company traveled to the Bay area for an offsite retreat, and we were lucky enough to hike with Debra, Will and Michael both mornings. From the beginning phases of planning our routes, Debra was incredibly attentive, thorough, and patient while we worked through our plans. She and her guides made the experience so impactful and meaningful. We saw the sunrise over the Tennessee Valley and gorgeous views of the GGB at Cavallo Point. All of our guests loved the experience and many cited it as the highlight of the trip. HIGHLY recommend Tam Hiking Tours for any hiking experiences - whether corporate or personal!

Can't say enough. First, the obvious: The hike was beautiful. Mount Tam is full of big views, stunning flora, and diverse wildlife. A great escape from the city. And a Bay Area staple. What else could you want?

Well, Debra. She made the trip. Her passion for the outdoors is infectious. From the history of the Douglas Fur (check out those pine cones!) to anecdotes about John Muir, Debra delivered the goods (literally, she brought us food). A true oral historian.

Never felt so connected to the Bay!

I went on this tour with my brother (both of us our in our mid-20s), and it was the highlight of our weekend. The area is beautiful, and I would be surprised if anyone is more knowledgeable about the area as Debra. We learned and laughed a lot. Debra is easy to work with and attentive to your interests and needs. I can't give a stronger endorsement. You should do this!

Absolutely awesome experience! Debra worked with us prior to our visit & made sure we hiked the trail that afforded us the sites we desired along the mountain. She is incredibly knowledgeable and made us fell like family as we got to know everyone. We were able to stop along the trail as she pointed out various fauna and gave us a history of the mountain and the surrounding towns. Debra is a wealth of information and goes above and beyond to make sure the hike is informative as well as a memorable experience. Would recommend this experience for all, even the novice hiker. You won't be disappointed. Debra and Tam Hiking Tours provide you customer service and a genuine friendly family experience that today, appears to be a lost art.

This was the best guided hike ever! Debra went out of her way to customize a special hike of a life time for this Texas crew. The combination of Debra's wealth of knowledge of the forest history and her excitement and passion for nature created never a dull moment. We started at the E. Peak of Mt. Tam and ended on the forest floor of Muir Woods. As Debra said, "We descended into the forest". And did we ever! It was magical and awe inspiring! My family and I agreed that we never would have seen as much as we did had we hiked on our own. Thank you to our new friend, Debra! (& if you hike down, say YES to having her gourmet lunch option on the deck of the West Point Inn...the views are amazing!)
