    Hats off to them
First visit to this excellent example of a traditional pier and grandson Leo lost his sun hat. Returned from the park to look for it and all the people at cafe, coffee shop etcetera were helpful especially the girls at the Pier Cafe serving icecream helped us find it. Naturally we bought ice creams and best of all they gave us a cup for our nine year old lab retriever Betty who adored it. Recommend The Esplanade.

    Excellent afternoon tea party
Held a family party in the Gallery of the Pier Pavilion, to celebrate a 90th birthday, 60th birthday and a Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The event was catered for by the Big Fresh Catering Company providing an excellent afternoon tea for 12. One of the group has coeliac disease and the caterers provided a gluten free selection, ensuring that the food was kept separate to prevent cross contamination. The catering staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. The views from the gallery were spectacular with 270 degree views of the Penarth seafront and the Bristol Channel. I would recommend booking this venue for a small gathering, as the afternoon was enjoyed by everyone.

    A quaint Pier....
Visited the Pier on Sunday 10/8. A quaint small pier situated on the small beach area at Penarth. Well preserved and maintained....Great views across the bay towards Weston-super-Mare and beyond. Plenty of benches to relax...Kiosks to buys drink, ices and snacks.Situated at the point of entry is the large Art Deco building...housing a gallery and cafe. Enjoyed a tasty coffee. Well worth a visit....Penarth promenade is well worth a walk, and the flower display is a credit.....Recommended

Our first impression of Penarth was that it was very quaint, with well maintained and clean streets, a beautiful pebble beach, a nice park, a lovely town centre, lots of bars and restaurants and of course the Pier. The immaculately restored Pier was quite small, but there was a cafe, sweet shop and toilets. Along the Pier there was plenty of seating and it was also very flat making it accessible to wheelchairs or push chairs. There were great views across the water and it was nice to visit a quiet seaside town.

Went to the tea shop. Unsmiling but just adequate service. We were there just before closing at 4pm, at which time one of the staff locked one of the doors, clearly marked as an emergency exit, to prevent new customers coming in ... or anyone else leaving. Is that sensible and/or legal?

Myself, family and just about everyone I know enjoy being in the pier.It is a pity that the council is using the previously needed covid restrictions as an excuse to reduce opening times now that easings have been made.

Some prefer early mornings or evenings for a stroll. rather than everyone being forced into office hour times (no good if one works office hours either)

The pier and views are a joy to see and there are refreshment facilities on and close by plus plenty of seats to people watch. Please improve the opening times.

Absolutely love the little cinema on the pier. Small, spotless clean; nice bar where you take your drinks in with you. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful building. Have visited several times and never fails to disappoint. Highly recommended.

Beautifully restored and maintained pier and pavillion. We walked to the end and noted all the brass plaques of people who had given donations. Great views across to Somerset, Cardiff Bay, etc. Plenty of seats and several shops, cafes and cockles, prawns, etc on sale. Everything nice and clean and free from dog mess that would soak into the wooden surface of the pier. A wedding was bein g held in the pavilion and the cafe there was excellent. An old fashioned sweet shop is one of the attractions.

This is a place that you really must visit ,when you are at Penarth seafront.I have been to this gorgeous shop many times with my 2 grandsons. This shop is amazing !! All decked out with vintage toys and props, and selling every kind of sweets and chocolate you can imagine.Oohs and Aahs from children and adults.
