- Kim B5 contributionsExhilaratingGreat guides! I think their names were Sean and Carrie. We'd never been zip lining before. We are 65 and 75 years old. We felt safe and exhilarated. The views were beautiful. We also met some really nice people in our group. It was so much fun and we will definitely be doing it again.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 29, 2023
- Jerry H1 contributionZiplining and community historyThank you AJ and Cam. We had a wonderful time. We got so much more than just the zipline experience during two hours we spent with these two. We learned about the mountain, the town and so much more. We will be back with the grandkids it's an experience we want our children to experience. One bucket list checked off and a lifetime more to go. Jerry and Dianna HaleyThank you so much Jerry and Dianna for the review! - 484MeganGLake Geneva, Wisconsin105 contributionsGreat time!We had such a blast here. Between the mountain coaster, zip lining, tree obstacles, jump tower, tubing and ski lift up the mountain side, the entire family enjoyed it. The staff was helpful. The activities were fun. My only recommendation is to eat outside the park or bring a picnic lunch. The food at the grill was very expensive for very little. Otherwise, it was a great time!Thank you for the review and feedback! - Doug A1 contributionToto, we're not in Indiana anymore.Mount Rushmore is a must. Take a few minutes to visit the museum and watch a 20-minute video of the construction. Seniors get have price parking! Keystone is a fun stop with several restaurants and gift shops. We stayed at the Powder House Lodge, get the honeymoon suite cabin! Great breakfast and dinner. Also, schedule a gold mining adventure with Rattle Snake Randy, it's the best fun you will have all day.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 21, 2024

We visited here yesterday and were very disappointed in the quality of the staff manning the aerial course. We had our two grandsons (ages 8 and 10) with us. Both boys have done aerial courses before as recently as a week ago. The staff provided very little instruction on the use of the equipment. And they did not check the children's understanding or competency in the use of the equipment. There are several courses to choose from, but no instruction was given regarding the difficulty of the various courses. Our 8 year old was allowed to enter a moderately difficult course where he became trapped on the 4th obstacle because he wasn't able to move his carabiner. My husband was working the same course but at this particular obstacle only one person could be on the platform at a time. After several minutes I was able to find a staff member to help the child. That's when the staff member suggested that they try an easier course where my grandson could be assisted by his grandfather at each platform. Unfortunately the boy was so frustrated by the experience he wouldn't continue.
Our 10 year old grandson was able to work the equipment and was flying through the course until he came upon an obstacle that he didn't understand. It involved having to pull a rope to bring the obstacle toward the adventurer. He called for help but no one responded. He ultimately unbuckled his harness and jumped from the platform. No staff member ever noticed his distress or even questioned how he exited the course.
When we spoke to the management about the issues they offered a rain check. Considering we were passing through on vacation, the rain check was of no value. Our request for a partial refund was denied.
The bottom line is, the aerial course is not well supervised and can be frustrating to children and even dangerous.

We left extremely disappointed. When my son (7 yr) decided he didn't want to zip line after climbing the hill he was in tears and the 2 at the harness shack told us to go to the ticket counter and they would allow him to do something else. The place was not busy and he could have easily done a less expensive activity to make up for it. When we went to the ticket counter there were 4 kids there and one was busy, 2 were on a cell phone, and another walked around the shack and ignored us. When we finally were talked to we were told it was not their policy. This place was not busy! It would have made us happy customers and we would have left content if they would have allowed him to do another activity (cheaper) rather than ignoring us. We were a bother to them! My son left in tears and we were upset as well. Last time I checked customer service was a top priority for many places to keep their customers happy. I would not have taken much to change this whole visit. Instead they chose to allow us to leave upset. I will discourage anyone to attend this place and recommend they go down the street to Rush Mountain Adventure Park. They were awesome!

We've experienced several zip line installations over the last ten years and seek them out wherever we go. Upon arrival at Rushmore Tramway Adventures, we were concerned we might have made a mistake since the check-in point and final zipline were located on a busy street corner in Keystone. We were not, however, disappointed whatsoever. With their chair lift not yet operating for the season, we were treated to a school bus ride to the top on steep, bumpy, dirt roads. That probably got our attention more than the chair lift would have. Each of the runs was fast and fun. The guides were very friendly, and they clearly knew what they were doing. On some of the runs, you could see Mount Rushmore above the trees. The braking approach used in this installation provides a rather abrupt deceleration ... which only adds to the fun. We would not hesitate to visit them again should we return to the Black Hills and highly recommend it to anyone.

Booked the 10 pass Alpine, 5 tubing passes and obstacle park for my family 2 kids age 8 and 6. We had a blast the Alpine was the fav of the day. On top of this the BEST restaurant in the area is top of the mountain you can take the chairlift to top ($12 per person) if you don’t purchase alpine slide. It comes with the Alpine slide. Grilled burgers that are delicious!!! Highly highly recommend make room for lunch or early dinner at the top. Plus views of Mt Rushmore at the top that you see when eating it’s breathtaking. Kids had a blast with the rides and us parents loved the restaurant with Mt Rushmore view and delicious burgers! Mountain-top grill at Rushmore Tram Adventures! Must do in Keystone you won’t be disappointed!

We did the Pinnacle zip tour and had the best time!!! There are 5 zip lines in about 2 hours and it was worth every penny. Our guides Dylan, Cade and Ty were so enjoyable and made us feel safe at all times. They were extremely attentive, funny, and taught us some local facts. The views were incredible and I would highly recommend it!

We got the package which was definitely the best value. Aerial course was the main reason we came to park and was my 13yr old son favorite. My husband and I are in 40s and also like the aerial park. Was actually some zip lines in the aerial park which was not expecting. Also went on the alpine slide, zip line and the tube ride. Gave the poor rating because of the staff on tubing ride. I know they are just teenagers, but they were all on cell phones whenever anyone was not around. I was particular annoyed by a girl working on the tube ride. She was sitting on a tube in shade and did not even see us come up to the ride. I didn’t even realize she was there at first. She did not get up to meet us, but motioned for us to walk over to her and then bend down so she could punch our wristband. Then when we got back she was still just sitting there watching her phone. She actually was starting to tell my 13yr old son to stack the tubes and I almost went off on her. So she now wants my son to do her job…seriously!!! I was so annoyed with her really ruined entire experience at the park. Luckily the teens working the aerial park area and zip line were so much better and we enjoyed that part of the park. Think they need to start a no cell phone policy there like many employers or if they have one enforce it.

Thank you for stopping in to see us! We are thrilled that you enjoyed some of your time here. We apologize for the unacceptable behavior by the tubing hill employee. Our employees are aware that they should not be on their phones. We will try to strictly enforce this policy from here on out. Thank you for your feedback.

Took the five zip line tour with Nathan and Luke. There only turned out to be four of us on the tour, and it turned out to be fantastic. They were very attentive and professional, addressing any questions and concerns anybody may have had. They made me feel comfortable even though I am terrified of heights. The sights we all had were unmatched by any other experience on our vacation. Do NOT skip this. A++

We arrived right at opening on a Sunday and were glad we went early!
It got busy fast!
We went to do the alpine slide. Bought the 10 pack. It’s a really fun time. My husband and I went once and we let the kids have the rest. It does include a sky chair lift to the top. At the top there is a cafe and restroom
They take your photo on the sky chair as you arrive then try to sell it to you when you get off.

July becomes our busiest time during the season, great recommendation! We try our best to deliver great customer service while staying busy. Happy to hear your family enjoyed our Alpine Slide. We offer the 10 ride package to make it affordable for everyone!
Were you able to try out our Tubing Hill? Great attractions for all ages, with a magic carpet ride to the top. You will enjoy it just as much as the Alpine Slide! We appreciate the review, thanks again!

I purchased the ultimate pass ( included tubing, chair lift, ropes course, zip line and coaster) for my family ( 16 & 18 teens, myself and my husband). The zip line was fun, however, I should have purchased the zip line tour as the one run was not enough. All the other activities were okay, the park is would be terrific for younger kids.

We are a family of 6 with kids ages 5-15. We enjoyed the attractions but were very disappointed with the staff. I'm sure if you get the complete package that the staff is probably great.
We did a couple of things a la carte because of the varying ages and interests of our kids. The staff simply couldn't be bothered to get off their phones to make sure people are safe or to make sure they get in the correct lanes. My youngest son went on the alpine slide with my husband. To get to the alpine slide, you have to ride a ski lift. One would think when you see an adult with a young child, you would make sure they know how to get on the chair properly and that they have to pull the bar down. None of that happened because the attendant was playing on their phone. So the chair came behind them, they barely got on and their chair was off the platform with the bar still above their head. They weren't instructed that they had to pull it down until after they were off the platform and the attendant had to pause the lift while my husband scrambled to to pull it down while holding on to our son, while dangling 10+ feet in the air. When they got to the top of the slide, the attendant was also playing on their phone and sent our other son down the wrong lane. I feel like they really don't care because they have you sign a waiver to do anything here. However no waiver will completely protect a business if an employee is negligent.

What if you have paid for a zip line tour and it rains/ storms do you get your money back if it is shut down?
Written August 13, 2019
Rushmore Tramway Adventures
Rapid City, South Dakota
Lightning is the main issue that can potentially postpone or shut down tours. If your tour happens to be delayed due to lightning, we try and get everyone zipping again as soon as the storm passes that same day. If we do have to shut them down for the day, we offer the option to reschedule at a later date or a partial refund depending on how far along the tour was. Hope this helps!

How long do most families spend here? Should we schedule a full or half day for 2 adults and 2 kids?
Written January 8, 2019
We did the zip line and half a day was sufficient. They do have other activities, so I would check their website to see how much or how little you want to do. We arrived early in the day and did not have to wait, but during busy times you might have to wait a bit.

Absolutely! We're able to accommodate virtually every age and ability with at least one of our attractions. The Scenic Chairlift, which takes you to the top of our mountain with views of Mt. Rushmore, can be slowed down or stopped while loading and unloading.
Be sure to check out the flower gardens and Grille once you are up top!

Hi Donna,
The zip-line has a small hike up to the top, as well as a short hike back from the bottom. That being said, we do have very helpful staff who are ready to lend a hand when necessary.
The braking system is three-tiered, automatic, and constantly monitored by two staff members. Super Safe.

We have attractions that are suitable for all ages. You all can ride the chairlift to the Mountain-Top Grille where you can see Mt. Rushmore and our flower gardens. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can ride down the Alpine Slide with your 6 year old in the same sled if you'd like. As far as the the 800 ft. Zipline is concerned, as long as they are 50 pounds they're able to ride! Give us a call if you have any other questions!
