We enjoyed our walk and even got to see some wild mountain goats. You can take some pictures from a different angles on this path.

This trail is actually a stairway and has a lot of steep steps - 400+. Just take your time (remember the elevation) and you can always rest along the way. It is a bit strenuous so if you have health issues this might not be for you.

Walked the Presidential Trail on Aug. 31st of this year. Saw many families doing the same thing. Go at your own pace! Do as much of the trail as you can do. Remember that it is about one and a half miles to walk the whole trail. There are many stairs so pace yourself. If you need to turn around... More

Awesome addition to the Mt. Rushmore experience. It's not a long trail, but does involve a lot of steps. Great views of Presidents, plus it takes you to the Artist's Studio, which houses a lot of great information about the sculpture. Well worth it. Takes about 45-60 minutes to go through.

I'm so glad I read some reviews and learned about the audio tour. It was worth every penny. Catch the videos and the informational talks if you can. Definitely take the presidential tour in the order of the audio trail. It's a much easier hike that way. Mostly all downstairs. It was a beautiful experience. I felt bad for the... More

I think this trail is great if you want a closer view. It's not a hard trail at all. The views are amazing and well worth it!

Third Mt Rushmore visit but first trek on the trail. Sadly, there were workers hoisting equipment and partial closure but maybe that was good as those 844 steps might have kicked my butt a bit. Great to see the big heads from different angles and view the valley too.

There are several view points along the trail where you get am incredible view of Mt rushmore. Lots of stairs though. The sculpters shack or whatever it was halfway through has a small gift shop and a giant model of the mountain. The park ranger gave am excellent history lesson about Gutzon Borglum and the tools used to carve the... More
