The baroque-classicist manor house in Svaty Anton (St. Anton) was built at the route connecting Southern Balkan with Cracow and northern Baltic Sea. Inspired by the symbolic of the calendar, the building has 4 entrances, 7 arcades, 12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows. A number of famous European architects and artists participated in its building and decorating. The Kohary and Coburg families made an essential contribution to the history of the manor house. Here, they concentrated beautiful pieces of furniture, artwork and crafts from all around the world. Elderly people in the village still remember its last user - Bulgarian Tsar (emperor) Ferdinand Coburg, who lived here in exile until 1944. The manor house is a museum of art, history and hunting.

They acted very rude because I'm wearing a camera! In the entres nobody warned me that I can't take my camera with in the rooms. When we are in the first room, the guide told us, that taking pictures is not allowed and requested that we put our cell phones and cameras to the bags, pocket ... Well, my camera... More

If you are in the area please go. Our charming guide gave us a very informative tour. Even though it was not an English tour, and with limited English she could get her point across. So different from many who make no effort at all. Much of the furnishings are original to the family. From the outside it doesn't look... More

The grounds and building have been lovingly restored so that the frescoes, fountains and water features make this an excellent place to visit and walk. The park grounds are peaceful, with the sound of running water in a forest setting is idyllic.

Hospitality is a name of the game I have been in Sovi Dom three times and each time was as good if not better. My host made my staying there like staying at home. Fresh flowers always, fruits and little things that you do not see in many places. Great value for a money you pay.

To me it was an attraction to view the residence of some aristocratic personage very much as it was left in the early part of the 20th century. Because of its state of preservation one can get a sense of upper-class life in old Upper Hungary. It is much unchanged and well preserved. If you glory in the hunting life... More
